Jesus was the God-Man

We believe that Jesus was the God Man
Fully God and fully man

So could Jesus have sinned?

Was he created like Adam - born without sin - with the ability to sin?

Did Jesus have free will?

If He could not sin -
Would the Devil know that
and if the devil knew that - would he waste his time tempting Jesus.

or did Satan temp Jesus, because he knew that Jesus could have sin and if successful
than Jesus could not have become the sacrifice?

Other questions to ask?

Do we have good answers?

Jesus Christ IS the God-Man, not WAS. He is fully God and Fully Man, thought without any sin, as per Luke 1:35 (KJV)

So could Jesus have sinned?

As Jesus Christ is the God-Man, in the One Person, the Bible says that "God cannot be tempted by evil" (James 1:13), therefore Jesus was "not able to sin".

Was he created like Adam - born without sin - with the ability to sin?

As the Eternal God, Yahweh, Jesus Christ is uncreated, and as Almighty God, unable to sin.

Did Jesus have free will?

Jesus Christ is Almighty God and a after His Incarnation, became the God-Man, which means that He also has a human "will".

If He could not sin -
Would the Devil know that
and if the devil knew that - would he waste his time tempting Jesus.

or did Satan temp Jesus, because he knew that Jesus could have sin and if successful
than Jesus could not have become the sacrifice?

The devil always knows Who Jesus Christ is, because the demons in the Gospels knew, and Jesus told them not to reveal Who He is.

Jesus' human nature is completely perfect, and without any sin, and with the nature of God, in the One Person, He is the God-Man (Philippians 2:5-8).

The "testing" of Jesus Christ by the devil was indeed very real, because the devil assumed that he could have caused Jesus to have sinned, which is what "tempting" means. To "tempt" someone does not mean that they would "fall" at all, it is always the "assumption" that they could be made to "fall".

The historical theological solution:

Posse non peccare...Able not to sin.

Non posse peccare...Not able to sin.

He freely gave His will over to the Father's will.

Food for thought. If Christ was 'dragged' by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, why not the devil also (dragged)?

The Spirit then compelled Jesus to go into the wilderness,

Other questions to ask?

39 And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt. Mt 26

If, as some say, Christ was seeking to avoid the cross, would this not be 'asking amiss'? Wouldn't it be a sin?

Jesus was really human. Him being really human was not a sin.
Hebrews 5:6-10,". . . As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Are you agreeing or disagreeing that Jesus was asking God, 'if it's possible let me not have to be crucified'?

Yes. Per Hebrews 5:8. Even though prior to this He indeed planned to go to the cross. His asking was not a sin.

...asking to be saved from death, NOT the cross:

7 Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, Heb 5

He was heard. God indeed did let the cup pass from Him, He saved Him from death by raising Him from the dead.

Compare v 39:

39 And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.

With v 53:

53 Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my Father, and he shall even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

...and know that Christ COULD HAVE circumvented the cross simply by asking, but that's not what He was requesting in v 39.

Even though prior to this He indeed planned to go to the cross.

So you're saying that God the Son flipped and changed His mind from just a few minutes earlier and was now asking to be 'saved from this hour'?

27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. Jn 12

Not. But God the Father did indeed glorify Him again by raising Him from the dead:

10 For thou wilt not leave my soul to Sheol; Neither wilt thou suffer thy holy one to see corruption. Ps 16
