>But after your consideration of a shoebox prefab house because they are so inexpensive I seriously doubt that you are going to be paying union wages to non-union workers.

My Kid, the Builder, who does remodels for millionaires - his latest project is a deck that cost more than my house - says that Marlette factory made houses are better built than the majority of stick built houses these days.

This is The Wife's project, not mine. She can build anything she wishes. This will be our last place before we go into the old folks home.

Feel free to doubt anything you wish. I would worry if you agreed with me on most any subject.

So your wife is planning on paying non-union labor more than they normally earn?

Your wife is in favor of paying union wages to scabs?

How much more will that cost to build the house?

Since I am not expecting billwald to post on this any further...

I will say that Vashon looks like a really nice place to retire.

Joe Legal has a good union job. But this list advocates universal scabdom. Under ideal BaptistBoard work conditions Joe legal and Jose Illegal will both be under bidding their neighbors in the race to the bottom.

Of course, bill's way has bankrupted more companies than I could begin to count...not to mention nurtured a generation of "employees" with the work ethic of a slug.

Not to mention...bill's buddies will slash your tires in a New York minute should you decide to commit the unpardonable sin of "going to work" when the head of the organized crime family (that's "union boss" to you and me) says not to.

No thanks, bill. You can have greed, chaos, and intimidation.

I'll take personal responsibility, work ethic...and meanwhile, pester my employers and my legislators to put teeth in our immigration laws.

Should we send this thread to the legislatures down in Arizona? :type:

Joe Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps And welfare. Joe Illegal still has $31,200..00.

This is complete error. Joe Illegal also has the value of the Food Stamps. If he is allowed $500 a month, the same amount Joe Legal pays for food, then Joe Illegal really has $37,200.00.
