First two paragraphs from the article:

According to Joel Osteen – Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, these first century apostles are wrong and outdated and he has come out boldly to infer indirectly that Apostles Paul, Peter, and John whom wrote much of the New Testament were wrong and need to be corrected and rebuked.

When asked directly if people whom are openly practicing homosexuals are accepted into the Kingdom, Joel Osteen responded with “Absolutely, anybody is.”

Hard to get past whom and infer.

It's all about the money. Before his statements on homosexuality, I wouldn't be surprised if he had polling done of his congregation and others in the area that identify themselves as prospective members.

That is an interesting point, Matt! And I have no doubt that you are right, about the polling thing! With that said, do you think that most of the larger church in America may also be using polls to decide their sermon content?

This thread is IMPORTANT to see the evil that this man is/does. But PLEASE do not let it move into discussing "homosexuality" - a subject that will get it shut down (not allowed on the BB)

Carry on.

Thanks Dr. Bob .... it surely wasn't my intention to broach the subject, just point out what lies are taking place in our churches today! The battle is the Lord's, but it is ours to point out the sin, so we can share with others, the wayweard teachings of the growing numbers in the church around our nation!

The theological gap between Joel and Rick Warren is narrowing. R.W. has been stepping over a few lines of demarcation.

That is interesting. In what ways has he exceeded those lines. I am not trying to be gossipy, just interested in exactly what you are suggesting. Thanks for responding Rippon. It helps us to discern from what is being taught as truth and simple tickling of the ears. Shalom!
