Yuk, that is the good ole Joel we know. I like how he said he didn't believe in a little narrow way and that God's mercy is very wide. I don't think he brushed up on the gospel of Matthew when he stated that. And now God excepts homosexuals. Well I guess He can if they repent but I'm thinking Osteen was not about to say that.

The title of the op is incorrect. Here is what he actually said from the op:

“I believe the scripture says that being gay is a sin. But, you know, every time I say that, Chris … people say, well, you are a gay hater and you’re a gay basher,” Osteen told Wallace during the interview. “I’m not. I don’t – I don’t dislike anybody. Gays are some of the nicest, kindest, most loving people in the world. But my faith is based on what I believe the scripture says, and that’s the way I read the scripture.”

You still didn't do it justice. Read the whole thing...cannot cram too much in an op title. Btw do you think he comes across passive and making light of the issue?

God can indeed accept homosexuals and adulterers and liars and murderers, etc. But like you, I really wasn't expecting Joel to explain the HOW of God accepting the homosexual sinner or any other sinner.

And THAT has always been the problem with the gospel according to Joel. He tries to NEVER talk about repentance because he'd have to talk about sin if he did.

Try this:

Step 1. Attempt to watch 1 minute of Joel Osteen's "preaching" and try not to rage-vomit.

Step 2: Notice that big thing behind him that is slowly rotating. What is that?

It is a GLOBE. In other words, it is a representation of THE WORLD.

That's what his "preaching" is centered on; the WORLD.

What makes me even sicker is people who go to baptist churches who lap up the swill and slop that Mr. Osteen shovels out on a daily basis. Well, I hope Mr. Osteen enjoys his very lavish lifestyle for now.....

Pray for Joel. He needs a genuine encounter with God where he is ripped raw and sees why the FULL Gospel must be preached.

Where did I miss that Joel said that God Approves of homosexuals? Can you give me the minute and second?

Wow do I need to hold you by the hand? One word in quote...then read or hear the context of that one word quoted.

In the WND article he said:

Rev, I' didn't read the article but watched the video clip which seemed to be different from what you have posted. Anyway I would like to know when Joel has called homosexuality a sin? I've never heard this claim against him ever. I don't see anyone coming to Mr. Osteen with the charge of being a gay basher as he is claiming. But I don't know his private life. In the public arena he is known as all inclusive as he seems to be saying in the video clip. He needs to be consistent which ever side he falls on.

The quote I posted is from Osteen in the article in the op.
