Anyone know the details on this? I heard pneumonia and may not survive but I'm not in the loop to know for sure.

Was not supposed to make it past 1:30 pm is what I read

He could no longer speak and would never be able to do so again and was aware of that

May he pass peacefully into the hands of our Father.

I’m reminded of Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones who, on his death bed and unable to speak, wrote a note to his family saying not to pray for healing… do not keep me from my Lord.

May I have such a mindset in that hour

Peace to you

He has, as the following, just sent out by Evangelical Times, shows:

John MacArthur (1939-2025)
American Bible teacher, John MacArthur has died. The organisation that he led, Grace To You, issued a statement saying:
After dealing with some significant health challenges dating back to early 2023, our beloved pastor and teacher John MacArthur has gone to be with Christ. His earthly ministry has ended, and he has gone to his heavenly reward.

John MacArthur was the pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, since 1969. He became president of The Master’s University in 1985, and president of The Master’s Seminary when it was founded in 1986.

From the beginning of his pulpit ministry, John has been the one and only Bible teacher with Grace to You. For decades, people have asked us a reasonable question: What will Grace to You do when the day comes that John goes to glory.

John’s answer has always been that we will keep doing what we’ve always done. While this is a profound loss, our commitment—our plan—has not changed. As the Lord sustains this work, Grace to You will always and only distribute the Bible teaching of John MacArthur.

Just as the details of John’s death are new to you, they are new to us as well. We probably have many of the same thoughts and feelings that you do. And while we grieve, we don’t grieve as those who are without hope (1 Thess. 4:13).

We currently have no details about services for John, but we will provide that information here as soon as we have it.

I never Met MacArthur in person - but some day, I will!

Pastor MacArthur stated he was "distantly related to General Douglas MacArthur." He went on to say, "I understand that I’m a fifth cousin.
A fifth cousin is a relative who shares a great-great-great-great-grandparent

For a quick re-cap on MacArthur:

He is with the Lord now. Truly a great minister. I never met him, but listened to his sermons via radio many, many times.

Without a doubt, the most influential teacher in my life. I saw a meme that had him preaching/teaching to Peter in Heaven, and Peter says, "I never looked at it that way, before."

Well, now he and his great Friend RC Sproul are able to joke with each other on just how badly they messed up certain doctrines

True, lol.

But John's got the upper hand: he's the one that will probably be saying "I told you so" more often.

I love to hear R.C. teach, too. Both men were great minds, and I think the Lord was able to accomplish quite a bit through them. Ran across a video of MacArthur debating (not really a debate, of course) with Gavin Newsome in an interview.

The first time I ran across MacArthur was when he, Sproul, and D. James Kennedy were debating the ECT (Evangelicals and Catholics together) document. That brought the issue of Faith Alone to my attention in a way I'd never viewed it before.

But, he being dead yet speaketh.

God bless.

He preached at our Chapel when I was in seminary. The sermon was in Matthew… the beatitudes. I thought the sermon was amazing. I learned things I had never seen before.

Our Preaching Prof was disappointed because he read directly from a manuscript the entire sermon. The prof had taught us to never read a sermon like that, to only use note cards for an outline of the sermon.

God bless his family and the Church family.

Peace to you

Loved watching them together on the John Ackerberg show regarding same document you referred to here , and whenever the audience had a question about water baptism. they would defer to each other, and John would say something to the effect you can hear what RC has to say about this, or get from me the right answer
