Read about his crashes and how he had a flight record no where near good enough to earn him the seat he had when he got shot down.
I meant to post a few more links - got tided up on some other things.

I am saying he had by far the worst record in that flight group. Daddy get him there???
Grandfather and Father were Admirals. Wouldn't that give him some clout?
His military career put him into politics where he went liberal.
He pressured congress to lay off the investigation into the savings and loan scandal. Did the same thing with the mortgage bump. He got us into a bunch of wars we didn’t need. John McCain was everything the democrats say they’re against. The urge to protect him from criticism is truly baffling.
You can Google and find all you need and then some. Can we see the flight records?
You can Google and find all you need and then some.
And yet with a silver spoon what did he do? He served with honor.
The problem with him is his political career. He said that he was a Republican but he was really a Democrat.
He served disgracefully, while in the military and as a senator. And yet with a silver spoon what did he do? He served with honor.
Brother, with all due respect, who cares... the guys dead! Are you saying the Navy made a mistake by allowing him to continue as a pilot?
Or are you saying somehow the Navy was influenced by outsiders that caused them to allow him to continue being a pilot?
Or maybe he got into accidents because he was a risk taker and unlucky?
He served disgracefully, while in the military and as a senator.
Someone kept voting him in. Go talk to them. BTW, have you noticed that the guys dead ?He served disgracefully, while in the military and as a senator.
Yet he did not die on his own terms. He did not die from any form of brain cancer. He was either executed or allowed to commit suicide.Brother, with all due respect, who cares... the guys dead!
True, very true. What a thoughtful addition to the thread.
You need to learn to use the possessive form.Someone kept voting him in. Go talk to them. BTW, have you noticed that the guys dead ?
There is nothing more dangerous than an inferior man who has been convinced that he has been deprived of what he feels is due to his humanness. What a thoughtful addition to the thread.
But you did notice he is dead, right? You need to learn to use the possessive form.
Duh!But you did notice he is dead, right?
Ahhh, so now you’re finally beginning to work your way through your fog! So now, take some advice and let the dead bury the dead.Duh!
Bush could not have started the war all by himself and McCain was one of the louder voices saying go. Another big reason was Colin Powell but we’ll leave him out for now.As a politician all those things are somewhat true if not somewhat over exaggerated. Bush is the lynchpin in the wars and did so under skeptical intelligence. The rest deserve their ripe criticism. Second hand obscure references to his military career were only brought up in the political portion of his career mostly as a means of opposing him politically. I remain skeptical of the veracity of these claims. Kind of like the stuff with Kavanaugh now.
