Read about his crashes and how he had a flight record no where near good enough to earn him the seat he had when he got shot down.

I meant to post a few more links - got tided up on some other things.

He pressured congress to lay off the investigation into the savings and loan scandal. Did the same thing with the mortgage bump. He got us into a bunch of wars we didn’t need. John McCain was everything the democrats say they’re against. The urge to protect him from criticism is truly baffling.

As a politician all those things are somewhat true if not somewhat over exaggerated. Bush is the lynchpin in the wars and did so under skeptical intelligence. The rest deserve their ripe criticism. Second hand obscure references to his military career were only brought up in the political portion of his career mostly as a means of opposing him politically. I remain skeptical of the veracity of these claims. Kind of like the stuff with Kavanaugh now.

I find it odd how “somebody said” is sufficient evidence to those who wish to confirm biases but are all of a sudden dismissive of word of mouth testimony when it goes against their views. Oh and I’m not talking about you here, I don’t recall you doing this but it is evidenced often on this board.

Are you saying the Navy made a mistake by allowing him to continue as a pilot?
Or are you saying somehow the Navy was influenced by outsiders that caused them to allow him to continue being a pilot?
Or maybe he got into accidents because he was a risk taker and unlucky?
Brother, with all due respect, who cares... the guys dead!

Bush could not have started the war all by himself and McCain was one of the louder voices saying go. Another big reason was Colin Powell but we’ll leave him out for now.
