McCain: Rand Is ‘Working for Vladimir Putin’


During a speech on the Senate floor on Wednesday, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) stated that Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is “achieving the objectives of” and “working for” Vladimir Putin after Paul objected to a unanimous consent motion to advance a bill to advance Montenegro’s bid to join NATO.

McCain said, “If there is objection, you are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin. You’re achieving the objectives of trying to dismember this small country that has already been the subject of [an] attempted coup. I have no idea why anyone would object to this, except that I will say, if they object, they are now carrying out the desires and ambitions of Vladimir Putin, and I do not say that lightly.”

Rand Paul Fires Back at John McCain: ‘Past His Prime,’ ‘A Little Bit Unhinged’


Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reacted to comments from his colleague Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) a day earlier on the Senate floor accusing him of being an agent for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Paul had objected to a unanimous consent motion for legislation to advance Montenegro’s bid to join NATO, to which McCain had attacked Paul.

In his “Morning Joe” appearance, Paul ripped McCain as being “past his prime” and “unhinged,” and then went on to argue questions about NATO deserved more consideration.

You know, I think he makes a really, really strong case for term limits. I think maybe he’s past his prime; I think maybe he’s gotten a little bit unhinged.

Good to see Rand Paul stand up to cray-cray Juan. McCain did everything he could to enable the rise of ISIS in Syria.

I've had the pleasure of meeting John McCain and having a brief conversation with him a few years ago.

I have a lot of respect for him but feel like he never recovered from 2008. I feel like he is a reason that term limits should be in place, among other career politicians on both sides.

Yeah, I have a relative who always throws out "Manchurian Candidate" slurs at McCain, which are totally uncalled for. But bis actions over the last 8 years have often left me scratching my head.

McCain, Pelosi and other long-in-the-tooth and (too) long serving members are exactly why we need term limits for Congressmen/women and Senators.
