Recently a well trained young preacher came before a crowd. His message of encouragement was directed toward the least of us, you know the down and outers.

He set upon the pulpit a sealed jar of alcohol, making sure the reprobates in the front row kept their distance. Next to it, he set another sealed jar, seemingly filled with smoke. Then a jar of chocolate. Finally a jar filled with dirt.

With great fanfare and much moving of his arms and putting urgency into his voice he talked about his trip to the tackle shop where he bought a small box of worms. He said he had received a message and he was called to deliver it, as if from God's lips to their ears.

Abruptly he put some worms in the jars. Then had his flock sing of the mercy of God. Then without another word, he opened the first jar and the worms were dead. He opened the second and again the worms were dead. Ditto for the third jar, but when he opened the fourth jar, out came the worms, wiggling and very much alive.

Thus saith the Lord said the Preacher man, if you drink, smoke and gorge on chocolate, you will not have worms.
