Jonah and the ???

    If I look back and reflect on the way God has worked in my life, sometimes I can see how I've been swallowed up by a "big fish". Not a literal fish, but something figurative.

    At any rate, it was about getting my attention and it worked and I don't want it to happen again.

    Or it could just be a really good fiction where no actual fish/whale/sea monster (Jesus' words seem to point to this last understanding) existed. I see no reason to think this story actually happened. Literary criticism seems to point to it as "made up"--along with Esther and Ruth by the way.

    I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I had to get my opinion in.
