Joshua 10:14 and Prayer

You seem to be drifting into Deism, the error of thinking God is aloof and does not care about human needs.
God cares for us, but his focus is not on our own personal comforts.
I see a priority of prayer requests in the New Testament; the priority revolves about God's plans, not our desires for ease and comfort.

I've been in prayer groups where a person spends more time telling us their prayer needs than we have time to pray.
I get the feeling that prayer time is a social event for some people. >>> pray those sort of prayers by yourself at home.
I know God is patient, but sometimes I get the feeling that many of our prayers are low on God's priority list.

Have you ever read the Psalms? Loaded with exactly what is wanted and how the psalmist requests God to respond to his enemies, often in gruesome details!
Psalm 139:7,9
Remember, O Lord, against the Edomites the day of Jerusalem, ...
Blessed shall he be who takes their little ones and dashes them against the rock!

Some prayers communicate more about our feelings than our desires... God knows our heart.

So, back to Joshua, that day was unique because:
1. The timing of the request - in the morning, even before the battle began.
“Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.”
2. The request was made in public.
...in the sight of Israel.
3. Joshua’s prayer humbled the Canaanites gods of the sun and moon.
4. The LORD displayed his power before the Canaanites, terrorizing the enemy and allowing the Israelites to defeat them.

The results was the LORD fulfilling his promise to Israel.
