Judging Others

Are you siding with Jesus when you say others don't give enough ? Has he given you special insight to what we give ? How can you tell us not to judge, then throw Christ's name around to justify your own judgement ?

I do no remember saying that any individual does not give enough. I have said that I have found that I cannot afford not to tithe gross income. Notice the "I", which is singular not plural. Each person must decide what they will give.

But you have said I hate the poor. Those are your words. You care to retract them, or are you going to remain in judgement ? Here's your chance.

Depends. Where do you stand on the issues:

1.Cutting food stamps to the poor
2.Cutting funds to Meals on Wheels
3.Not providing healthcare to the poor
4.Not being in favor of paying a livable wage
5.Do not believe the poor should have affordable housing

Baloney. You never once asked me any of those before you judged that I hate the poor. If you don't know the answers to these, how can you judge me as hating the poor ?

Care to try again ? Throw away your stupid list and prove I hate the poor, like you said I did. Like you judged me to. If it's OK to judge, that is.

Or you could be a man, for once, and admit you were wrong to judge us.

So, answer the questions. It is a simple thing to do.

Hogwash. Your questions are framed. I think the policies you support have caused devastating harm to the poor, yet I don't claim you hate them.

Why is it OK for you to claim I hate the poor ? Why is it OK for you to judge, but not others ? Is it because you are a hypocrite ?

I guess ole' Detrich Wat'shisboner should have given you a caveat in this, eh ? But he didn't. He says it's wrong to judge. You say it's quite all right to do so. Which is it ?

Again, as is you habit, you misquote or mis-represent my words.

How about answer the questions. Do you believe the poor should be helped in any way?

So it will be hogwash when those questions are asked at the final judgment?

Answer the questions and we will know how you view the poor. Thanks in advance.

Maybe there is a better way than government intervention. Saying that if you cut off government intervention then you hate the poor is just not intellectually honest and poor Christian character.

Rev. the discussion, IMHO, is not about government programs, but about the attitudes and actions of individuals toward the poor, the aged, the widows and widowers, the sick, the hungry, etc.

And if individuals and churches do not or will not help those folk who is left but government. It would be much better and probably much more efficiently run if churches did sacrifice and took care of those in need. After all, it was the church in centuries past that founded hospitals, orphanages, hospices, etc.

What say you?

When you talk about food stamps you brought up government. And we all know the government is your favorite mechanism due to your marxist agenda and DNC talking points.

LOL. I thought the subject of the O/P is judging. Wait a minute. It is.

Is it ok to judge, or not ?

Answer my questions please. As usual you refuse to answer valid questions to define your position.

By the way, does it show a judgmental attitude to dis a true martyr, Dietrich Bonhoeffer ... to not have enough respect to properly use his name? You are the first person I have ever seen or read that diss'ed him. So, is it all right for you to do so?

I can draw the conclusion that anyone who wants the government to provide these things that people should provide for themselves and their families has their mind on what other people must do to help the poor, not on what they personally can do-- the latter of which is the essence of 'sheep and goat' judgment.

Now, since you began this thread about not judging, Yes or No: are you judging people for not helping 'the poor?'

So, you who demand answers to questions, will you answer Alcotts questions? You responded to the questions by asking more questions.

I am against the gov't programs you mentioned because they make people look to the gov't for their salvation. They make leftists like you congratulate themselves for being so loving and so Christ-like, when in reality, you are neither.

People like Curtis and Rev help people regularly person to person. They love people, help feed those who cannot feed themselves and tell them about Jesus. Your way only tells them about the local gov't office.

Then it should be very easy to answer the questions.

Wow! You automatically default to historical revisionism. Seems to be a left wing trait. You in fact did bring up "gov. programs" when you mentioned food stamps.

Are all who are in poor, elderly and infirmed responsible for their own hardships and needs?

Ain't that a Yes or No answer? But even though you're a coward to give such an answer, I'll give one to your question-- No.

What does Jesus say about the poor?

A lot of things. For one, a certain rich young ruler should become poor by selling all he has. For another, a steward given the least amount to invest for his master, who buried in the ground, was stripped of what he had and it was given to the one who had the most, and the guy with the least was cast in to outer darkness. What else?

What does Jesus say about the rich?

Quite a few things, such as the church at Smyrna existed in poverty, yet was rich. He said a rich man was in torment while the poor beggar, he wouldn't even throw his chicken bones to, was in comfort with Abraham, who had been a very rich man. That whole story doesn't make very good sense, yet I believe it.

What is described in the final judgement as described in Matthew?

That those on His right didn't know that they had helped him with food, water, clothing, and company, while those on His left didn't know that they had not done so. Perhaps if we help 'the poor' we better not know it??

If I side with Jesus and scripture in my attitude toward the poor, is that bad?

Probably not. But do you mean Hagar, as opposed to Abraham and Sarah? The soldier who falsely claimed to have killed Saul, as opposed to David? the Gadarean demonic, whom He told to go back home after he was healed, as opposed to the 'rich young ruler,' whom He told to follow Him?

Alright, I answer your questions, you see. Do you have the courage to answer mine?

The discussion is not about gov. programs. I do not believe I mentioned any gov. programs.

You believe wrong about what you mentioned. You said:

1.Cutting food stamps to the poor
2.Cutting funds to Meals on Wheels
3.Not providing healthcare to the poor
4.Not being in favor of paying a livable wage
5.Do not believe the poor should have affordable housing

2 specific government programs are in bold [mine] here, #3, #4and #5 indicate certain others.

Thanks for the reply.

As I told at least two others, I was not speaking about government programs. However, as the church refuses to attack any of these problems seriously, what is left other than government?

What I really wanted to know is what conclusion I or anyone could draw by responses, either positive or negative, to these questions/beliefs.

If an individual is pro:

1.Cutting food stamps to the poor
2.Cutting funds to Meals on Wheels
3.Not providing healthcare to the poor
4.Not being in favor of paying a livable wage
5.Do not believe the poor should have affordable housing

Then what conclusion should a person draw? I am not sure where you stand on these issues.

How are the sheep and goats judged in the final judgement in Matthew?

The discussion is not about gov. programs. I do not believe I mentioned any gov. programs.

So these are not gov't programs? You did mention them.
