Not at all. I was a US Marine and proud of it. I enlisted to defend my country against foreign and domestic enemies. Nothing "rebellious" about that.
Secondly, we did no go to Europe to "liberate" Germany. We went to whip their ***** because THEY were invading other countries and threatening to invade US eventually.

Your imaginary scenarios have NOTHING to do with "rebellion" at all. And I never espoused reversing what has already happened. That kind of talk is just plain stupid IMO.

Please don't take my comments as disparaging military service. I don't feel that way...I was pointing out what I saw as a logical flaw in your argument. Sorry you think that it's "stupid."

rbell;
My point is that your attempt to point out a perceived flaw in my logic was stupid. One meaning of that word is "wanting in understanding" and is the sense in which I applied it to your rebuttal.

Sorry you were wanting in understanding of the varied sense in which that word is used. And I am sorry your took offense. It was not a personal jab.

In any case, I hope you can now see that your scenarios are not applicable nor are they supportive of your point.

no offense taken. Thanks for the clarification.

Though we disagree on some matters, thanks for your service to our country.

Driving to work today I kept seeing Flags being displayed in yards and at business and other places where you would normally see them, It got me to thinking about the Country I live in and the freedom that I have, The men and women who gave up so much so that I could have that freedom. Then my thoughts turned to Christ and what He gave up for me and how truly free I am, Free from the bondage of sin free from death, made me cry.
Just something to think about as we celebrate the 4th.

Indeed---in any country on any continent of this spinning ball of dirt we call Earth---"He who the Son sets free shall be free indeed."

And per the OP's request---this topic is now closed!!
