Jury Summons Question

Just curious what the BB thinks about this...

I go to my mailbox today and find a jury summons for the man who used to live in my house. I've lived here for 5 years. He passed away in a nursing home about 4 years before I bought the house.

I'm writing "Return to Sender - Recipient is Deceased" on the envelope and putting it back in the mailbox Monday morning. Do you guys think this is the right course of action, or should I actually call the County Clerk?

I probably would also call the courthouse - shouldn't hurt anything.

You sure the DNC didn't send it?

No. If you just write "deceased" they'll get the message.

Thanks, everyone. I called the Court Clerk office and informed them. They said the call was sufficient, so I threw the summons away, per instruction. They were surprised that he was still on the roll.
