says the guy who's evidently never driven across Texas.

HOURS at 3 digit speed. Still in Texas.
I heard of a man that boasted to his friend that he could drive his truck for days in one direction and still be in Texas.

The friend responded, “I had a truck like that once.”

peace to you

Yeah, but that's only cause all their cars only turn left. :D
whoosh.

huh?

Salty just testified to 6 hours El Paso to Killeen. that takes an average 95 mph ... in a straight line. And Killeen is in Central Texas. It's another 340 miles to Texarkana.

Nope - about half of that was not I-20 - seems like I got off around Tyler -... doing the speed limit - taking US and TX state routes.
OH ... I thought you were at Ft. Bliss to Ft. Hood.

You were at Waskom/Elysian Fields! copy.

I still remember from our required 7th grade Texas Geography & History that the longest straight line is from the northwest corner of the Panhandle to the lowest point south of Brownsville .... 801 miles.

and in the "doing what dads do" moved my now daughter n law (then just son's GF) nearly that entire route when she lost her jobs due to stinkbug ... Amarillo to S Padre. That was a HAUL, y'all. She lasted down there w/ her folks about 4 months ... then stayed with us for most of the remaining time before they got married.

anyhow. Didn't intend to get down THAT road ... just noting ... this dude has driven Texas though until THAT occasion, I'd never done Panhandle to the coast in one effort.

I have driven from El Paso to Houston (about 750 miles) several times. That is less miles than from San Diego to Yreka (about 760 miles). However, from El Paso to Brownsville a good deal longer (about 830 miles). And if you start at the top of Texas, it is close to 950 miles to Spaceport near Brownsville.
