It occurred to me that I learned a lot of interesting things I never knew before, right here on the Baptist Board.
This week I've been taught that Mary is NOT the mother of God.
This week I've been taught that Jesus is not REALLY God, that there is a difference in Jesus of Nazareth and in God the Son.
For several weeks I've been taught that there is no need to try to spread the gospel message. It seems the Great Commission stop applying to people back around 75 A.D. when the last of the original disciples died. (Why they included it at all in the bible is beyond my understanding.)
And besides, personal committments to God are just silly rituals. They mean nothing. All of that was already taken care of before the earth was formed.
I've learned that its okay to ignore anything between Acts and Revelation because they aren't "god breathed" scripture.
I've learned that reading Harry Potter will turn your child in a hallucinating, drug using, wiccan, but NOT reading it will keep your child safe from such people.
I've learned that Dante's Inferno is dangerous and evil, but the Wizard of Oz, the Narnia Chronicles, and the Lord of the Rings are safe and good and Godly.
I've learned that any holiday meant to honor Christ is evil and should not be celebrated because Pagans have decided to enjoy it in secular ways as well, and it is therefore better not to Honor Christ with celebration, joy and thanksgiving (outside of your prayer meeting), lest some Pagan actually enjoy the same date.
Been an interesting and insightful week.
