There was a country song that went by the title, "What Part of No Don't You Understand?"

My question to a good number of you who post and comment on this forum is similar to the song title... What Part of ILLEGAL Don't You Understand???

Well, this is your chance to chime in and explain just what makes an illegal alien not ILLEGAL... you have as much room as this cyber-page will allow, so take your time, and make it good.

Because, I fully understand what Illegal means, and, I'd like to hear why many of you don't see that a person who gains entrance to the US, sets up housekeeping, gets a job, gets free medical care, usually drives without a license and insurance, runs when ever they think Immigration Agents are in their area, have children on America soil to assure their children are legal - which means they must understand that they are not here legally - because they have children in hopes that this will gain them amnesty, or sympathy from Americans?

And for you who are going to call me a "bloody-racist" please explain your method of deduction, and just how you arrived at the point where you could refer to me as a racist for simply stating the obvious, which is that way here in California - I mean, at least - most illegals are guilty of the things I list in the above paragraph???

You're on the clock, so, move-it, move-it, get writing, I'm waiting to hear just why you don't think an illegal alien is not illegal... and how my stating the truth makes me a racist! This ought to be entertaining at least!!!

... I guess I'm showing my age, JWP, but, what is advanced "rabbit trailing?"

I expect flack from this post, but, I'm truly tired of people on this board freely tossing the race-card into the ring when illegal immigrantation is discussed.

Personally speaking, I am not a racist. I spent many years teaching Spanish speaking women how to be better at providing child care in their home and how to avoid licensing issues and complaints. I cared about these ladies and their success, because I cared about the children they were licensed to watch. Their success meant less work for my analysts...

Truly, these ladies did a job that a lot of people wouldn't want to do, and I'm talking about any race, not just Hispanic. My job, as a Unit Supervisor, was to be proactive, and the one thing I did was help these ladies to better understand what they were getting into.

My years of teaching resulted in the lowest number of deficiencies in Spanish speaking child care homes, back in the 1990's. That is not racism, and I know in my heart what I believe toward any race outside of my own. My work was a labor of love, because these ladies were failing in their efforts of providing child care. My work with them, helped them to be successful, and remain in the business for years to come.

Am I a racist??? I think not... I know, in my heart, that I've got a clear conscious.

The illegals don't really understand who they are, the government has convinced them they are only undocumented immigrants - no wonder they want full rights of legal folks.

I'm not aware of anyone on here who has said that illegal aliens aren't illegal. Also, you can't be racist against Hispanic people because Hispanic isn't a race.

I understand your frustration. In fact, illegal is illegal. However, I also see some misconseptions of the problem. First from the Mexican point of view. During the 1800 California, Arizona, Texas, etc large Mexican families spanded the boarders and crossing was more free and often not even looked at. During our industrial revolution farm owners hired families of mexicans to work on their farms and mexican cowboys were hired to range cattle. There was really no issue with boarder crossings as it helped everyone. Eventually, as our country has become more socialistic in operation; boarder crossing have become more and more of an issue. However, Mexican families still span the boarder.
Also note that as Mexicans have illegally entered our country note that there is still a desire for migrant workers by business owners wanting to keep their income statements in the black. Fixed cost can't really be messed with so that leaves labor cost a major consideration in lowering cost. Yet, interestingly enough if an illegal is hired by US enterprises the business still holds back taxes from overall wages. So illegals are working in this country and paying taxes but are not elegible for many benefits such as health care. The way illegal migrants deal with the health care issue is by avoiding health centers as often as possible and when in emergency make use of the emergency rooms which drive up emergency cost. Not the overall health care system or cost of insurance. What it does cost are the numbers of emergency rooms that can be maintained. Because of course the illegals can't pay the cost of use of that service and leave hospitals holding the bag for cost. So we see an epidemic of ER closings throughout the country.
Also what I find interesting is that migrant workers are encouraged to work in this country because of Welfare rules benefiting migrant workers who are temporarily out of work. So business leaders and our government both encourage the mexican's to illegally enter the US to earn money they cannot in Mexico because Business leaders keep their cost down and the government gets tax dollars from illegal immegrants as well.
I believe California has the largest and most complex problem with illegals and I think its because of California's socialistic slant. California has passed legislation that make this type of immigration a problem. Schools cannot kick out a person attending if its determined that they are illegally in the US. In fact they are encouraged not to report it? Why you must ask. In states that are far more conservative. Illegal immegration is not such a drain on their economy as it is in California. So that indicates there is a problem with how California is governed and how it spends money. Being the 14th largest economy in the world you would think they would change their policies. So again we see the government encouraging illegal immigration.
Note there is a myth that illegal mexican's are taking American jobs that I find funny. Have you ever seen an illegal immigrant lawyer? How about doctor? How about corporate executive? How about bus driver? No. Where do you see them? Janitorial services, farm workers (pickers usually), etc... Jobs that many american's look down upon and find that their welfare checks pay better than actually working at these low wage jobs. Also note. As these illegals work in this country they also contribute to our economy they buy food, clothing, electronics, etc as well as pay taxes like sales tax. So the problem of illegal immigration is more complex than any argument I've heard suggest. We want them here yet we don't.

I'm just glad I consider my Heavenly citizenship more important than my Earthly Citizenship..
And labeling people "illegal" in order to hide a racist tendency, and in order to vilify a group of human beings, so that we don't see the need to help our fellow humans will not be an excuse when we stand before God in judgment. But what is Arizona supposed to do with a border problem like the one that they have. It's not just a matter is innocent people seeking asylum, but from what I understand, it's a matter of MUCH drug and violence problems from seriously dangerous people.

If I enter someone's house without their permission I am breaking the law just like someone entering this country without the proper procedures and clearances is breaking the law. If I am caught breaking and entering I go to jail; anyone caught being in the country illegally should be tossed back to their own country... but it should be on their own dime and not ours.

Sorry to disagree with you but the law is rather black and white regarding the legal way to enter this country. Sneaking across the border, or cramming yourself inside of a truck or car, and hiding inside something to get across the border are not a part of that process. It doesn't matter who or what wants them here... there is still a legal way to do it.

As for any government official who promotes illegals to cross the border they should be deported as well as they obviously have no regard for this country. I would prefer criminal prosecution for them but I can't have everything.

As for your ridiculous notion about an illegal Mexican lawyer and such, it is just that... ridiculous. The jobs being taken are mostly on the lower end but still doable by those out of work already. I know way too many people who have done construction all their lives who cannot get a job because the crews are full of Hispanics who will work for half (but only give about half the quality of the US workers). Illegals destroyed the carpet industry of north Georgia (where I used to work for many years).

As long as there are legal ways to enter this country I will not ever support illegals. I am tired of my taxes paying for their stuff while I do without and pray that I don't get sick, or how I will be able to pay my mortgage, or how I will be able to afford groceries.
