It will continue to get worse, till it starts to get better.

It'll get worse till the Lord returns.

With progress comes the abuse of the results of progress. I expect progress to continue and along with it the abuse of the fruits of progress.

Try to name one prime-time tv show this week that did not include some sexual reference

Compare that to the shows of the 1950's or 1960's.

There are loads of shows in prime time that don't include sex - try watching C-SPAN channels, TVLand, the History Channel, the ESPN channels, etc., during prime time.

I'm more concerned with violece on TV. It seems we Americans are so preoccupied with sex on TV, we're giving violence a free pass.

I'm also at a loss as to why there was no outcry when soap operas first appeared in the 50's. The biggest offender of sexual content is the soap opera. I could be wrong, but one almost gets the impression that when it's watched by our Christian women, then we'll just turn a blind eye, but as soon as it's watched by Christian men, then poof! Gotta get rid of it. That is one of the reasons I find the "get rid of sex on tv" crowd often duplicitous.

1. I have no problem with violence for entertainment sake.

2. I agree about Soaps. What is even worse about them is the acting...horrendous.

KenH, you will have to back up on the history channel. I have seen several show dedicated to sex on the history channel. It was not dry history either.

Well this is one woman who doesn't watch soap operas. If it isn't the sex(which seems to be one big theme) then it's cousin Al trying to steal Floyd's fortune only Floyd already lost most of due to daytrading! And one theme that's been running through some of them recently is withcraft/horror.

MOre crime/immorality goes on during one soap opera than goes on at a mobster convention! I got better things to do with my time.

Don't watch "primetime TV" for the same reason.

Within reason I have no problem with the History Channel looking at the subject from an historical perspective. Not every program on TV has to be suitable for a first grader to watch to be okay with me.

I'm completely serious. 30 years of blatant sex on daytime tv, watched by christian women, and narry a word is said. Then, when starts its way in the evening, watched by christian men, then all of a sudden, those same christian women are up in arms. If one can't see the clear duplicity, then one needs to see an oculist.

I am not sure where you have been for 30 years, but I have heard a lot said about "Christian women" watching "blatant sex on daytime tv."

This is nothing new. It is simply far worse than it has been in the past.

I think Soaps are stupid. They are so unrealistic and give such a fake picture of romance and love. I watched them when I was a teenager, and thats where I "learned" alot about what I thought romance should look like. Its just as bad in the evening shows. Of course there ARE some that are not racy. TV just doesnt interest me very much, though. I think JohnV has a valid point.
