Kaepernick's unemployment...

Simple fact is, while Kap's kneeling during the National Anthem mighta made a few NFL teams shy away from him, the simple TRUTH is, he's not that good a QB. A fact of life around the NFL is that talented players are employed by some team despite their off-field issues unless they're outright criminal.

Some, however, "take the money & run", as Ray Rice did He's still with the woman he punched out, which led to his dismissal, &, had he wanted back as a player, he & her campaigning together woulda made it happen.

Appears that NE's gonna hafta pay Antonio Brown's $9 million signing bonus, as they retained & used him in a game after the allegations against him were filed before then, & the Patriots were aware of them. He may not seek to play any more, as he'll be rich anyway.

But poor ole Kap will most likely hafta improve his QBing skills & be able to demonstrate them before any team will sign him. The 49ers released him due to QBing probs, not his protest. Had he continued to be good on the field, he'd still be with them.

l think the general view within the NFL is that Kaepernick has the athletic ability to play at the professional level, but he's not an elite-level talent. I think if other issues weren't involved, teams would be likely to give him a contract, possibly as a backup or as a starter for a team without a very good QB.

If he were a Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes level talent, you can bet that at least some teams would be eager to have him on their roster, regardless of his baggage. But unless a player has elite-level talent, a team probably won't risk the PR damage and/or potential locker-room issues.

Good QBs can find jobs, but they probably need to be likable and/or a good "team player." Great QBs can be jerks, if they want.

Sad - but True
Remember that fiasco back in Major League Baseball Spring Training - 1973

There's no conspiracy against Kaepernicks. The owners follow the bottom line, and they think K will hurt that bottom line. It doesn't make any difference if they think he's not a good enough player or if he'll drive fans away with a future stunt of disrespect.

If K weren't playing the race card, his protest would have been shutdown right away.

The only fact that matters is that Kap doesn't want a job.

He prefers being a martyr. And it pays better when you have companies as woke as Nike out there.

Another one not picked up again by any NFL team is Tim Tebow. He brings an impressive college career, the Heisman trophy, and a sterling character. His presence drew fans to the Broncos. However, he's simply not a great pro QB & so the Broncos dropped him & no one picked him up.

Unfortunately, many TV nets wanna avoid Christianity except on Sunday AM. I remember a net interviewing Kurt Warner's wife right after his Super Bowl MVP performance in 2000. & when she began talking about God, they almost-instantly cut off the interview !

So instead of crying - Tebow went to Baseball - has moved up the ranks of the minors - this past season he played for the Syracuse Chiefs

The Chiefs are the Mets AAA affiliate. While Tebow may not make on to an MLB roster the Mets see him as a valuable asset to the organization.

Thru it all, Tebow's FAITH has remained constant.

Kaep, like Manziel with the Browns,, is likely living off his signing bonus & guaranteed salary from the 9ers & thus doesn't actually care if he worx or not.

But, with pro athletes, it's often the drive & love of their sport which keeps them playing when they can easily afford to retire. Thus, we see Tom Brady, Frank Gore, & Adam Vinatieri(age 47), among others, still playing despite being very wealthy.
