    Does your church do VBS?

As you can tell, I'm new to the forum. I'm obviously missing something here. Could you enlighten us unenlightened folk as to why this question? I'm struggling to see it in the context of this thread, but seriously would like to know how it fits.

This is certainly something I tend to agree with.

I work with teens in foster care. Something I was taught years ago is that you can't teach them until you love them. After that, the mode is secondary.

If his church makes the Gospel relevant to children via snacks, games, stories, etc., his church is guilty of the very thing he condemns.

I hadn't thought of it like VBS but it makes sense.

Snacks, games, and stories do nothing to make the gospel Relevant. You seem to use that word rather loosely

Since relevance is having a bearing on or connection with the subject at issue, my use of the phrase is used precisely how it is intended to be used.

    Back to the OP...

You want to keep 20s and 30s?

Spend time with them and make sure you talk to them in your sermons.

Too many pastors spend all their time with 50+ fellow believers, and it shows.

When it comes to seeking a form of commitment for volunteerism, some are ready for a week to week commitment. Some are not. Provide opportunities for service that might be once a month, for example. Or activities/events that might only come once a quarter or in the summer once a month.
