But you undermine your own faith, if you really have any, by carrying a bible you cannot trust.

You seem to resort to the carnal tactic of questioning my faith and thus my salvation, which may be against forum rules.

I trust and accept the KJV as what it is--the word of God translated into English in the same sense as the pre-1611 English Bibles are the word of God translated into English and in the same sense as post-1611 English Bibles such as the NKJV are the word of God translated into English. The KJV is a Bible translation, and it is not the Scriptures given by inspiration of God to the prophets and apostles.

Bible translations have proper derived authority from the greater authority of the preserved Scriptures in the original languages. The accuracy of the translators and the printers can be tested by comparison to the greater authority of the preserved Scriptures in the original languages. If the testing of a translation's accuracy was not possible, the actual errors in the 1611 edition could not have been corrected. In their 1611 preface, the KJV translators themselves indicated that the accuracy of translations and the detection of blemishes can be done by testing with the standard and authority of the preserved Scriptures in the original languages.

Faith comes by hearing the Word. If you attack the Word, how can you have any faith in it?
