I have no use for those who attack the word of God in any solid translation.

Looks to me like someone's just tryin' to get other people upset...& doing a pretty good job of it. I've been out of the loop for a long time now here, but I saw stuff like this going on in thes board back to 2001 when I first joined. Some folks just like to bait others into arguments instead of fruitful discussions & there always some around who "bite". I'm not trying to be mean at all but the best thing I see to do is ignore their posts completly, less of course you want to tell them you love them & God Bless!! Not their efforts, but them.

I would assume that all of the KJV Bibles brought in have been sitting on shelves and not read.

than give them away to poor people who need a Bible.

Wouldnt it be a far better thing to have a program that would exchange, say, rock music videos for a Bible?

    btw,

I was aware that this OP could indeed be just someone who is trying to get things stirred up. I didn't even respond until others started responding as if it were a good thing. I hope that clarifies it.

Wow, is THAT ever an oxymoron!! </font>[/QUOTE][IMG] Good one. I love the KJV. I also read other versions. If you're going to trade in Bibles, I could probably hand over some other versions long before I'd give up my KJV.

You sure this "trade in" isn't prompted by more of a dislike for KJVO folks, rather than the version itself?

Ditto here, Brother Roger!!! It took me about 2 seconds to catch on to the OP!! It won't keep me from loving my KJV!!

The OP should be ashamed of himself!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

You mean to say there are those who would give others their junk for Jesus?

Of course I understand there are many Christians who buy new tghings and give away their tired things to organizations. It is like the folks who give their tired vacuum cleaner to a campground who will use it everyday.

Why give others our junk when it is quite inexpensive to get a Bible in their language through organizations like the Gideons or American Bible Society?

This is rediculous. I am not KJV only and in fact choose to use the ESV, NASB, and HCSB, but removing the KJV completely from public use??? That's like saying, "Bring your used Shakespear so we can take it out of public use and give you new and better plays". The KJV, even if new textual finds have made some new translations more accurate, is still literature and a part of our Christian heritage.

This post is the most offensive, blasphemous, ungodly, antichrist like it is not even funny.

This has satans fingerprints all over it. Taking the one true bible and "exchanging" it for what! A bible that tells you what you want to hear and not what God wants you to hear. Your (KJV Recycle/Exchange Program) all a bunch of lunitics. God haters!

I thought this was a CHRISTIAN board. My bag!

I have to say that I do think it is a little odd that they pulp the old Bibles. Why not just give them to a Christian organisation for distribution amongst people that dont have one, or better still print new bibles and give them direct to people that dont have one in the first place?

    james_mason, (preacher)

No, I didn't think you were picking on me. [IMG]

But I had been very worked up lately and I figured I needed to sort of clarify.

    Thank you! [IMG]

Tee Hee, i find it difficult to belive that
a person who uses a KJV1769 Edition Bible
But calles it a KJV1611 Edition is going to
do much devil smashing. For the lead devil
is the Father of lies and the Father of liars.

    Wow, this post picked up.

To you who are complaining: I don't necessarily believe in recycling them. They can send them off or something to give to people that don't have Bibles.

However, that "one true Bible" remark is ignorant. If it is a good translation to you then fine. Should have known this thread would have picked up the KJVO vs. the modern version "Heretics" atmosphere.

well though you find it difficult to believe, Ed Edwards, the KJV is just as much God's Word as any other BIble.

Why do you all continue to insist that this is a versions issue? Can you not do anything else now that the C/A forum is closed down? You HAVE to find something to fight about so youve picked this ad nauseum instead?

We call it a 1611 because thats when it first began. We are perfectly aware that there were several editions after that. Thats like calling someone a liar who claims a book they read was written 1n 1972 but they actually read the 3rd edition that was printed in 1995.

And why would you call this a humor thread, Artimaeus? Even if the person is just trying to get people riled up, it SHOULD get people riled up! Is not even the BIBLE worthy of some respect and honor from some of you?
