I for one, (KJVo) agree with the intent of this thread. To sing a hymn TO any version seems a bit far fetched. Singing a hymn ABOUT the word of God is very similar to Psalm 119. NO?

    Pick your poison.

    BTW, Thank you C4K.

LRL, Frankly I don't care if it was in jest. IMO "Pickled Version" is NO DIFFERENT than "Perverted W/H versions" and I am GREATLY offended by the OBVIOUS slander to God's perfect word.

    In HIS service;
    Jim

    Jim,

Who said I was slandering God's Word, let alone the KJV?? The obvious usage of genre in my humorous analogy is called parody. I've explained it once before, I'll explain it again so hopefully you won't be so confused: I've given a name to an object ("Perfectly Providentially Preserved Pickle Version") to describe an undefined variable (which edition of the KJV is the 'perfect Word of God'?). I'd say that the usage of 'perverted W/H translation' by KJV-onlyists is FAR more malicious than my analogy, so for you to take it that way is indefensible.

By comparison, verse 7 seems a bit more orthodox:

    By faith we can aver
    The Bible in our hands:
    Accurate and reliable ,
    God's Eternal Word will stand

Of course, it doesn't make much difference between
'rhema', the written Word of God, the Holy Bible,
and 'logos', the Living Word of God, Messiah Jesus.

Why in the world would a far eastern college be KJVO. They don't speak English in Signapore do they? Oh I forgot... One must translate from the KJV since it is the ONLY accurate representation of God's Word.

My acquaintance in Singapore that clued me into
this book -- he liked the NIV =
New INTERNATIONAL Version. Singapore doesn't use
the same English we use in the middle of
    Oklahoma

Seems reasonable that some guy named Jack Sin would be associated with this.
