LA Firestorm

Will California voters come to their senses and vote for those who would restore public safety over climate nonsense? Will California rebuild its infrastructure to provide adequate water for protection of urban areas?

Time will tell.

How about under grounding or anti spark coating electrical transmission lines in fire hazard areas?

And you thought the Democrats cared about the housing shortage!

Ask yourselves why Insurance companies have curtailed coverage of homes in California?

How about changing forestry management to reduce fire hazards?

No and no and insurance companies don’t insure because politics have made such events inevitable.

We can pray and observe the obvious at the same time.

Peace to you

It is California. Common sense seems to be in short supply in the Western half of that state.

Yes, the population centers (San Diego, Las Angeles, and San Fransisco) swing the state into the deep blue. However, Orange County did vote
for Mr. Trump in 2024. But since all the Electoral votes went to the Democrat, more folks need to come to their senses. I would think the governmental mismanagement of our wildfires, from wilderness management to water supply insufficiency to shift the blame accountability may impact our next elections. Time will tell.l

When we review this story, we see the same issues as in the LA Firestorm.

We were warned, yet our government leaders seem to have trusted to luck.

1) Wilderness management to minimize fire risk
2) Insufficiency of the fire suppression infrastructure

The Lord says we should pray for and love our enemies. I'm not saying California is our enemy, just that the lord would have us pray for and love even our enemies, so we should pray for and love the people of California.

It is really sad to see the level of reporting.

How many hydraulics engineers have been interviewed to explain the design characteristics of our municipal hydrant system? None?

Given the know scope of wildfires, how many water and retardant aircraft should be available to muster within 12 hours? Why do we always seem to lack adequate aircraft. Have you seen a discussion of the way to resolve this problem?

I do not think anyone or anything could stop a wildfire in a fuel rich environment if being driven by winds in excess of 25 MPH. This is because the winds will carry burning embers more than a quarter mile in the air, thus jumping any man-made firebreak. But once the winds abate, we should have mustered the means to "bomb" the life out of it.
