The slaughter of the unborn a mere "political" difference, eh? What hypocrisy!
I don't have a political difference with my pastor on that issue. We are both strongly pro-life.
You are not strongly pro life if you vote for and support an abortionist. Your pastor would not do such a thing.
I'll ask you again- How do you know this? Do you know my pastor?
Conservative preachers in the SBC are all very familiar with Mac Brunson. But don't take my word for it go ask him.
Look, I know he's a Republican. My whole point is that in most churches there are people who have differing political opinions who still serve God together and most pastors are polite to their church members. Maybe in your church that's different. In my church, we are united around the Bible as God's inerrant word and we affirm the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message in Article V, Sec. 2 of the bylaws. None of that requires political unity.
Don't lose sight of why he was brought up. You said the SBC is a denomination. I said go ask your pastor. I already know his position on this. Mac Brunson would not agree with you. Baptist is a denomination the SBC is a cooperative within a denomination. Libbies want to make false accusations because they no longer hold the purse strings and are bitter that they can no longer teach godless doctrines in our colleges and seminaries. You are much to young to allow them to turn you into that bitter pill. Go talk to your pastor.
Ummm... I'm a political liberal, not a theological liberal. I can't be a theological liberal because I affirm the 2000 BF&M. That's a conservative document.
sigh...... I didn't say you were either in this thread. But your view of the SBC being a denomination is a liberal stance born out of bitterness. God ask your pastor.
I don't see how it matters that much.
Whatever, I'll ask him when I get a chance. I find it interesting that you put "SBC" in your profile under denomination.
Sure you do. Go back and read your posts that insist I am "wrong". It mattered then, didn't it.
There is no other area to the affiliation. And I want to be set apart from some of the other affiliations like Primitive Baptists.
No, it didn't.
Are you this abrasive in person?
Bolded mineMy music minister once said that we should put aside our political differences at church and work together for the gospel.
Still can't see the difference between a political issue and the Christian message of the gospel of Christ, I see.Bolded mine
For anyone who accepts abortion as "OK", you are describing a tug-o-war; most certainly not "--work(ing) together for the gospel".
Still can't see the difference between a political issue and the Christian message of the gospel of Christ, I see.
The mind of a neocon...it is an illogical and irrational place. :laugh:The Rev sure has you pegged!!!
Absolutely no sense of logical comparisons!!:BangHead:
Unless I missed where Christ said that MURDER was OK as long as it was legal!
If I did, please cite reference for same.
