Your point was decrying immigrant groups who refuse to "assimilate"; I gave you the Amish as the example par excellence of such a group
LOL! ROFLOL! The Amish are immigrants? That is rich. Really rich. The Amish arrived in Lancaster County in what later became the State of Pennsylvania, in the 1720s or 1730s. Do the math. That was long before the US was the US! Immigrants? That is hilarious!

You seem to have a problem with finding things funny. Let me try again for your benefit: where did the Amish come from, North America or Europe? It's an easy question

Your post #95 brought up the subject of Christians and skin color.
Which you evidently misunderstood: Ken will correct me if I'm wrong but I read his post as deploring the treatment of non-white by white Christians based on skin colour

Matt, unfortunately, a log of conservatives in the United States use a large amount of what aboutism and deflection in debate.
Two points. First I am not a "conservative." If anything (and I abhor "left/right" attempts to pigeonhole people) I am slightly (or not so slightly) left of center.

Second, you brought it up. If you didn't want to defend it you shouldn't have brought it up.

Left of centre? Now it's your turn to make me laugh....

They immigrated from Germany to England. Colonial England. 4th grade history is your friend.

I would like to say “no” but what if a store refuses to do business with divorced people, or people of a different religion, or people of a different denomination within a religion, or atheists, etc.? I find this to be a very difficult case due to my opposition to same-sex marriage.
I hold to the very unpopular position that I own the goods or services I offer, and am free to refuse service to anyone. If I chose to discriminate against divorced people or people of a different faith, or of a different denomination, or atheists, that is my choice and government has no business telling me who I can and cannot sell my goods or services to. Let the free market sort it out. If I make enough people mad they will stop buying my goods or using my services and I will go out of business. Trust the people to make these decisions, not the government, which can't seem to do anything right.

Thanks for confirming that they were indeed immigrants...who have steadfastly refused to assimilate.

Now we agree on that can we move on to the next point of disagreement

Remind me how that policy worked out in the Deep South prior to the 1960s if you were a black man...

Now Matt, I realize this is difficult for you, but think about it for a minute. How could they assimilate into a country/culture that did not exist, and would not exist for another 50 years? And when that country/culture finally came into existence would it not be incumbent on the new country/culture to assimilate into those already there, namely the Amish?
