    Johnv:
With respect, Johnv, one out of two isn't bad in baseball or basketball.
Scripture does say in Isa. 55:11 (KJV) that the LORD says "...my word...shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish...", which is close to the last part of your sentence. I agree, as Scripture says so.
But as to the first part of your sentence, "Scripture says that the Word is leaven,...", I'm having a VERY hard time finding this. Help me out please, and give the book, chapter and verse. I have no problem with any context [IMG] , but I do with a pretext.
    In His grace,

Leaven is often refered to as a metaphor for the permeated affect of sin. But it is not always negative.

Context. Simple principle for examining ANY metaphor or illustration.

Oops, I misspoke indeed. Scripture referrs to the Kingdom as leaven. ("The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened" - Mat13:33) Sorry about that. In my zeal, I goofed.

Am I understanding that the purpose of this thread is simply to get a rise out of folks?

What if it said "grilled cheese sandwich is fattening, grilled cheese sandwich raises blood pressure; and whoever is deceived thereby is not wise"
Would this passage in of itself make grilled cheese sandwich sinful?

My dear mother made the best grilled cheese sandwiches when I was a kid. I can still rmember the smell of them as she made them. Wonderful childhood memories. To this day, I will never turn down a grilled cheese sandwich made my dear old mom. I know that makes me hellbound, but at least I'mm hellbound with a big smile on my face [IMG]
