If it bothers you to eat a fish fried by a Catholic then don't buy it. At the same time, don't deny another Christian brother, the freedom in Christ, to do so. Some folks need to mind their own business.
...Would you stop by a RC church for a delicious fish dinner, knowing the proceeds go to further the RC church?
raying:Aside from giving them the gospel we are not even to fellowship with them. Rcc is the false bride of Christ and they are not Christians.
Most of the posts have NOT :BangHead: answered the question. Its not a matter of fellowshipping with RC's, their works(for salvation) ect.. Sag said "If it bothers you to eat a fish fried by a Catholic "
I don't care who cooks its. Where are the profits going? If you buy a ticket at a RC church the proceeds are going to further their false gospel.
Is that a problem for you. raying:
It is for me, thus I would not attend one where I had to pay.:saint:
If it is not a problem - why isn't it?
Now, if a member of their church invited me - at their cost - I would go.
PLEASE RESPOND TO THE OP
Listen you......most of my family is Catholic. They were the ones that taught me to put Christ 1st in my life & to give Him the glory due Him. They put me & my brother through school & raised us up in Faith. My brother is today a Baptist Pastor & I am a strong believer. So regarding your attitude....go chase yourself!
If the Catholics are so great, why are your bother and you Baptists?
most of my family is Catholic.
most of my family are Calvinists
my family are all Reformed
my ancestors were all Welsh Calvinist Methodists
So which is it?
Just like Jesus separated Himself from sinners, huh?
And what if the proceeds were to feed & clothed neighborhood children or provide a home for destitute people or a food pantry? If thats what the money would go to then heck yes because they are doing Gods work & I dont care that it comes from a Catholic source. In my area, its the Catholics doing that & we as Baptists, Presbyterians, Methodists etc are gladly sending them there because we cant accommodate all the increased poverty thats happened within the last two years. So yea, I would gladly participate.....and give my meal to some poor guy or gal who needs it......Im fat enough:smilewinkgrin:
Don't call yourself a Baptist! So what if they feed the poor or provide homes for the poor. They do NOT teach the way to heaven. Believe the RCC doctrine and you WILL go to hell. Satan inspires good works to add confusion and deception.
Yes, eating with them indicated the highest level of acceptance in the culture of the day.Jesus ate with sinnners and he fed them.
Of course not. You seem to think that doing anything other than communicating the gospel (with words, apparently not actions) is somehow partaking in their sin.But he did not partake in their sin.
Yes, I understood the question. I apparently don't understand the prejudice. The question was do we participate in a lenten fish fry?
Ah, it's about hating the practice of Lent! Since many people in my church (Baptist) participate in the ancient Christian discipline of Lent, I'm not freaked out by it nor assume that it is something evil. That is different than sitting down to dinner with someone who happens to be Catholic. As Christians we should not partake in any aspect of Rcc's false doctrine.(Lent)
Yeah, that's really evil and pagan to deny yourself the pleasure of eating meat in remembrance of the suffering of Christ and the pleasures He denied Himself on our behalf.Nor their pagan practise of eating fish on Good Friday.
Except, apparently, when you're a Baptist and Catholics are involved. It's fine and good to eat fish anytime.
It is wrong to do good works? It is not ok to participate in their system of good works.
(Moderator....please change my profile from Baptist to Non-Denom. I tried but must be prohibited. Thanks)
Here in Louisville we like Mike Linnig, doing good fish for a LONG time:

Sounds good. The only thing that scares me is that Louisville is a LONG way from the ocean! Do they fly in fresh seafood or it is frozen?
If you are not a Baptist, then you should not be posting in this Baptist only forum.
Please - simple question- can we give a simple, short answer to the question of the OP
Louisville is a LONG way from the ocean!
Nestled in a shady grove along the Ohio River, Mike Linnig's Restaurant has been dishing up tasty fried fish and seafood at family prices for many years.
...but NOT a long way from the river:
