We don't punish/regulate people for what they are but for what they do. Boy Scouts don't have co-ed camping trips because of what they might do. Same principles should apply to all situations. When I was in the Boy Scouts
I would have been pleased to go tenting with my girlfriend.

Jon-Marc: If this is aimed in my direction, let me say first of all that I agree with you wholeheartedly. My mention of hypocrisy was aimed toward the individual who declares that I'm (spiritually) blind, but he is unwilling to fulfill his duty as a Christian to help me to see exactly how I sin.

I agree with the BSA's stance.

My statement wasn't aimed at anyone specifically, although it could seem that way. I was speaking generally to anyone who thinks it's hypocritical to condemn a sinful lifestyle while saying "love the sinner". We can do both without being hypocritical, but too many people seem to think that "loving the sinner" also means to accept his sin no matter what it is.

The guy who propositioned me 30 years ago said, "I believe God accepts me just the way I am." That's the way many think; "If you love the sinner, you must love his sin, or you're a hypocrite." God does not accept anyone's sin--so why should we?
