In 2004, when President Bush was running for the second time, I was watching the election night results. You know how they keep showing various important senate/house races on the same night - switching from presidential results to senate/house results?

Well, that night 16 years ago, they kept panning over to the Illinois senate race and showing this tall African American man with a funny name. They kept showing him speak and showing people clapping wildly for him.

I said to myself, "Why do they keep showing this man from Illinois who no one knows about?"

Hang on.....I'm not lying here. God spoke to me [not audibly, of course] and said...."That man is your NEXT president."

He didn't say it with joy or remorse. It was just a matter of fact statement. God was reminding me that HE was in control and held all authority. I've never forgotten that moment and I never will.

All of the above is factuall ...... what's next is my opinion.

I believe that God is getting ready to wind things down.

In order for the Antichrist to be ushered in and the end to come - Israel must be very vulnerable. No allies.

I've always told my SS classes and Community Bible study when the topic comes up that America is not going to be here in the end or at least be weak and of no value.

What if God because of the sinfulness of our nation - Christians included most definitely and because of the murder of 10's of millions of babies - what if God put Obama in place, then Trump in place, and now Biden in place to split America apart forever so that when America is out of the picture.- Israel is an open target?

In comes the Antichrist - then the battle of Armageddon against Israel and THEN here comes Jesus!

Just what if America never recovers from the hate, sin, and division? Is there a reason for it?

Finally, this morning in church during the choir special, I cried like blubbering buffoon. All I could do was mouth the words - I couldn't get a voice out. Tears spilled down my face and all over my shirt. I felt like a mortified idiot. Even though it was a choir special, the song was about calling the lost to Christ.

Something was sweeping over me - and it wasn't tears for our nation. It was a grief untold for lost people of all political persuasions who are headed straight for hell.

I tried so hard to stop crying, but could not. I wasn't in control - I could not stop. I don't know about you, but there are lost people I grieve over.

This morning, a tidal wave of grief washed over me OUT OF THE BLUE and I could not stop it.

What if this is the beginning of the end? What should we as Christians be doing?

I try to keep in mind the beginning of the end for us (for our way of life or nation) may not actually be the beginning of the end.

But I get what you are saying and the world stage is certainly set.

As Christians I believe we are to be doing what we were always supposed to be doing - living in anticipation of Christ's return and being a light to a world that is fading.

The answer to your final question can be found in answering another question. That is " if you knew Jesus was to return in one week what would you do?"

Any true Christian would answer preach the gospel.

I believe your story. I myself as a pastor and a preacher of the gospel have recently had an overwhelming drive and urge to preach the gospel to as many as I can. I mean large crowds. This isnt just a normal preacher thing or a nirmal christian thing. It is an unusually strong desire. This morning I myself thought it was just going to bust out of me. I was certainly overwhelmed as never before.

I to believe this country is about to be split. And you may be right as to why. God may be getting folks like us ready to be used in the midst of all the chaos.

We need to be ready, in the Spirit, living pure lives, ready to give an answer to any man that asks the reason of the hope we have with all the meakness and fear we can muster.

Two passages come to mind,
Matthew 24:36, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
And,
Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."
And with those two a third reference,
Psalms 24:1, "The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."

Many many nations have risen and fallen over the past 2000 years. None of those nations were as important to the big picture as the people living in them thought. It is a characteristic of our youth to think we are the center of anything.

This country is the center of our lives right now. It is frightening and sad to see that it might be falling apart. I think this is going to be a winter of mourning, but I don't think the end times are any more likely now than they were in other times that people were convinced that they were nigh.

I can see America, emerging as a dominant beast, in the aftermath of Ezekiel's war.

Most folks believe the Antichrist will emerge from Europe, the home of the Roman Empire. However, due to the Holocaust administered by the Europeans upon the Jews, and the continuation of perpetual European bullying of the modern State of Israel. It is virtually impossible for the Jews to trust the Europeans, which they rightfully utterly despise. The Europeans have been continually staunch supporters of the Palestinians since Israel's rebirth.

The United States is not perceived by Israelis as a persecutor. Nearly half of those professing to be Jews on the planet reside in the United States of America. Jews have prospered tremendously in America.

IMO, America is the offspring or an offshoot of the Roman Empire.
The three nations, England, Spain, and France colonized America and we typically think of them. But Christopher Columbus credited with discovering America was an Italian. And Amerigo Vespucci, was an Italian explorer who drew the first known map of the Americas, and the Americas are named after him.

Even though neither was prominent in the colonial days, currently Jews and Catholics have emerged as today's major players in every aspect of American society.

The current Supreme Court sits 6 Catholics and 2 Jews. President-Elect Biden is a Catholic. Throughout every aspect of power: educational, political, media, banking, social media, legal, business, ect..... Catholics and Jews strive to excel.

Have you ever considered that Baptists are virtually absent in these arenas?

These are just foretastes of the many reasons that I believe that America is poised to be an interreligious stronghold of the Great Tribulation.

My thoughts which I believe are relative to your thoughts.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[fn] (NU-Text reads rulers of this darkness.) against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:11,12 NKJV

and the God of the peace shall bruise the Adversary under your feet quickly (in quickness); the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen! Rom 16:20 YLT with, "in quickness," for, "in," is in the Greek. To happen quickly.

Is God about to end this spiritual battle, for which this age of flesh and blood with marriage, was made and bring in the next age? See Luke 20 34-36 NKJV

How was the spiritual battle against the devil and his works won through this age? Was it not through the Son of God manifest in the flesh, sin, death, and resurrection from the dead?

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8 NKJV
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, Hebrews 2:14 NKJV

What was the purpose of this age of flesh and blood, of given and taken in marriage, of sin and death?

You've hit the nail on the head with how I felt Sunday morning and frankly how I've been feeling.

My community center Bible study on Thursday nights will be opening back up in January. I'm preparing for that now.
