First off where do you find that a mental illness is a temptation? 1 Corinthians 10:13 God will make a way of escape, think maybe God has given Doctors the knowledge to develop the drugs which help escape the temptation? God has given us drugs that help reduce our colesterol or reduce our blood pressure. The epileptic has drugs which keep them seizure free, and seizures in many epileptics begin at a very early age some from brth although many aren't recognized prior to say 2 or 3, so did the epileptic sin from birth in order to have his condition? I think not, Christ made the point very clear in

John 9:2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

God's works are manifest in many ways including through Docitrs whom He gave knowledge to heal.

Just wondering if you take a pill for a headache? Or maybe cough syrup for a cough? Mental illness in many cases as has been discovered is caused from a chemical imbalance in the body, balance the chemicals and the mental illness is kept in check, let it get unbalanced and the person is yet again suffering.

Just as the alcoholic can from one drink revert right back to acoholism or the drug abuser right back to the abuse. The Holy Spirit convicts and they are convicted and they try to stop but as Hebrews 12:1 states "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"

We look to Jesus and He guides could he guide us to a physician who can help with medication?

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Christ endured the shame for our sin, but who says mental illness is a sin?

Seems God says something about those who beguile unstable souls, in 2 Peter 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:

No, what that proved was your disobedience to Scripture, not his.
Here is what the Bible says:

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
--We are to provoke unto love and to good works.
You sinfully provoked him to anger and frustration. The sin is yours.
The fact that this is not just opinion is evidenced by the testimony of the many posters who will tell you the same thing.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
--Again, you go directly against this teaching.
You are not helping to bear his burden. It is a transgression of God's law, or sin. You have developed a sinful attitude toward your brother, and are not fulfilling the law of Christ.

So tell me, who is in the wrong? It is not seekingthetruth, as you wrongly accuse.

This is such a self-righteous post. Practice what you preach. Practice the fruit of the Spirit which is love not condemnation.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

You don't get the true meaning of this verse do you. What do you think the "law of Christ" is here?

How many times will play this broken record.

Do you have it on speed-dial.

Have you considered the full meaning of this verse yet?

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Those good works are confession and forsaking, not drugs.

    .
Bearing another's burdens does not mean to hide the truth.

    Gal 6:5
For every man shall bear his own burden.

There are two different Greek words from 2 to 5.
Verse 2 means to be willing to come along and help him to the right path. Verse 5 means he has to be willing to do what it takes. Confession and forsaking is what it takes,

John, Ann's post is so right.

To add: Only God can open FAL's eyes to see the truth. We are unable to reach into his heart and change it.

Unless He changes His mmind and scripture changes He is not going to try and change it.
Confesssion and forsaking is the cure for sin, not drugs.

Actually the blood of Christ is the cure for sin.

I am debating your warped view that all mental illness is the result of sin. Haven't you been reading your own threads?

Read your Bible FAL and quit reading into Scripture things that are not there!!

Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
--The good work specifically being referred to here is the assembling of ourselves together. (not missing church).
It definitely does not refer to Dr. Fal's quackery medical clinic.

Can you show me in scripture anyone who would be considered mentally ill today and it was not from sin?

Continuing to hold to the worldly idea that you are a red neck is probably why you cannot shake your sins. Confession and forsaking is the only cure.

    It was a joke..

Are you saying that rednecks cant forsake their sins?

Can you prove this with scripture?
