Are you just now realizing this? Everybody else seems to have figured it out long ago.

Ok with the definitions Bob.........

procreate= 1. to produce (young); beget (2. to produce:bring into existence.

incarnate= endowed with a human body; personified
1.to give bodily form to (2. to give concrete form to (3.to be the type or embodiment of.

.........it makes sence.

Haven't read the thread, but when I saw the title, "Let's Obey Mary," I thought, "The only thing I ever know of her asking anyone to do was when she asked Jesus to turn the water to wine - and I don't know how to do that!"

But I know what Christ asked of us, and that's enough.

Hi Helen,

Nope, Mary said to the people " whatever He tells you to do, do it"

And He was always putting His mother in her place!

She said to obey HIM!!
good enough for me!

the whole thread is worth the read.

God Bless,

Tam

Indeed. She is "not the Mother of God" because she did not "procreate God".

It is the key difference between incarnation and procreation.

Hey Bob,
Theres like the 1st Adam/2nd Adam thing going on here? Right!

1Cor 15:45-47
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Oooooh so........
So therefor "Peter" (the one who Jesus said Upon this rock will I build my church Peter) and other apostles said..........
Acts 5:29
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Boy that sure blows some other peoples doctrine out of the water don't it?

Indeed - obedience to God - no focus at all on "the Queen of the Univers" in that text.

As you point out - the second Adam is "From heaven" - incarnate God the Son - not "procreated" but "incarnated" - as an act of the Holy Spirit - not Mary.

Notice that during Christ's ministry, after His death and after His ascension - no mention of "disciples obeying Mary" or their placing any emphasis at all on "obeying Mary".

Complete silence on that point by NT saints that actually "lived" at the time of Mary after the cross.

In Christ,

Bob Ryan,

You are right in your evaluation of Scripture. Mary's ministry was minimal at best. She was the virgin who brought into the world the Lord, our Savior.

Apparently, Mary could not depend on any of her own merit to reach Heaven and eternal life. Why? Because she in her own words declares that Jesus ' . . . is God, my Savior.' [Luke 1:47] There is no evolving or outright theology about the mother of our Lord in any of the books from Matthew through Revelation.

I think you have said it best in your post of March 1.

Regards,
Ray
