Lets Play A Game - Name That Pastor

Yeah! I mean why should we enjoy getting along when we could be arguing!
Good retort, Amy.

Sorry if that came off wrong. Games usually go in the game forum, though, that's all I was saying.

Except for the fact that many around here do seem to enjoy holding up teachers more than Who we should be holding up. Perhaps that's an unfair statement, but there it is.

After 3 pages I can finally get around to the point I was trying to make. Many of us are guilty of this, myself included, when a thread is started with a snippet, we make judgement on a man's entire ministry based upon one or two quotes, some we may agree with, some we may not. Or we have a perception about a certain pastor/preacher/evangelist and just shoot from the hip. I think a lot of us tend to fly off the handle without having enough knowledge about a person or subject.

It's ok. I never pass up an opportunity to be a smart alec!

Actually there are only 2 on the OP's list that I have a love and respect for and that would be Adrian Rogers and Charles Spurgeon.

I do not put pastors on a pedestal anymore. I admit I have in the past. Too many that I have been associated with have turned out to be a great disappointment. Three Baptist churches in my small area have split in the last year and one of them was mine. All due to the pastors and wanting total control even to the point of disfellow-shipping large numbers of long time members simply for disagreeing with the pastor.

So right now pastors are kinda low on my list of people to respect. I hope that changes.

But this game of the OP was fun!

When I have time I'll try to put together a Wacky version from famous pastors/preachers (and I use those terms lightly) that we all would agree are probably not the best to take advice from. And I'll put it in the games forum at the suggestion of another poster.
