I love the fact you don't acknowledge the GUY you claim has better understanding of Christianity totally dumped your position.

You don't want to look at it or even mention it because it only confirms how wrong you are.

All hail POPE ROBY.

Gaze upon my spiteful and victorious smile.....:D

YOU TRY TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT, HOPING TO AVOID THE QUESTION.

I never cited Oaks.

And YOU are among those here who recognize the authority of a pope. I don't. it's a MAN-MADE office, likely invented by some Nicolaitans.

lol I never heard of the guy till you posted him.

John 20:23 appears to give the ability to forgive sins to Christians. How do you explain this? | Evidence for Christianity"

You are the POPE. point at anyone else who has a better understanding of scripture other than yourself?

1 Timothy 5

22Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.

You got no lineage buddy. Who laid hands on your first pastor? It was an anglican. And later the founder of your faith, DUMPED IT.

One day the founder of your faith woke up and said who am I kidding with this junk i made up....and dumped the faith he started.

That says a lot. And why did he dump it? Because he had no apostolic succession and left to the menonites (anabaptist).

He knew he had to follow the church JESUS started not the baptist church which he MADE UP.

Yes, it IS. Do YOU talk or write in that English style? Not that I've seen here!

By your argument I would be subjected to the latest hip hop rap version of Scripture because everything else would be outdated. One can accept that Chaucer wrote in an English that needs translation or some time to learn but Elizabethan English is still perfectly understandable even with decaying American educational standards. So shun KJV all you like--who cares? And, yes, I constantly quote KJV here--the last time a couple of days ago. I also quoted Matthew Henry, who is not too recent either.

I can tell each of those children God loves them and actually be sincere about it. Answer my question.

"Jesus Gave Power to the Apostles and The 70, but there has been no reason for anyone to think they have that, since."

So you think only the apostles and the 70(72) performed miracles and healing is this correct?

After them no one else did is this correct?

Confirm it, so I can school you.

BEHOLD! It's the same person!

This is the second most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in relationship to The Bible, so I have already been plenty schooled, enough:

Thanks a lot.

"I can tell each of those children God loves them and actually be sincere about it."

People familiar with The Bible know that the Supernatural Succession of The Bible Doctrine, and therefore, Baptist Doctrine of the churches Jesus Started and Have Perpetuated, Under The Superintendence and Indwelling of The Vicar of Christ, is a Function of Scriptural Baptism, by The Authority of God, Originating with God, by a man Sent from God, to baptize.

Anything about a word, 'Apostolic', was invested within The Apostles, and died with them.

and therefore, Baptist Doctrine of the churches Jesus Started and Have Perpetuated,

Baptist doctrine didn't start until the 17th century, dreamed up by one man named John Smyth. (You need to get your facts straight).

John's name was The Baptist.

I have a couple of posts on The Baptist History forum and a couple hundred posts and references to sources on my blog, on Baptist History, of those who have upheld Bible Doctrine, and are generally spoken of as 'Baptist', by me, because the Baptists I'm talking about Preach what Jesus Preached.

I have done a series on Baptist Perpetuity proven from The Bible here on the Bible History forum, as well as, several series on The History of Baptist's, as concerns Bible Doctrine and their Faithfulness to it, having been Committed The Oricles of God, & Manifold Widom and Whole Counsel of God that I called, 'Baptist History by Baptists'.

And I have edited and adapted The History of Salvation, from Eternity Past, to Eternity Future, regarding The One and Only Way of Salvation, in The Eternally Giving Covenant of Grace, Accomplished by Jesus Christ and Administered by The Holy Spirit, in Time, on those who God the Father Gave the Son.

That means I have a general acquaintance with The Bible, including The Body of Church Truth, which is apparently hidden from Rome.

Therefore, people familiar with The Bible know that the Supernatural Succession of The Bible Doctrine, and therefore, Baptist Doctrine of the churches Jesus Started and Have Perpetuated, Under The Superintendence and Indwelling of The Vicar of Christ, is a Function of Scriptural Baptism, by The Authority of God, Originating with God, by a man Sent from God, to baptize.

Baptist Baptism has The Authority of God and is the principal determinant of 'Succession'.

Rome and her Protestant offspring have no Bible Authority to conduct Business for God and don't want it, and have killed, and maintain Doctrine to kill those who do.

The blood of Bible believing Baptist Doctrine teaching martyrs marks The History of Jesus' churches, from the first one Jesus Established, until now, and until Jesus Comes Again.

Are you Rome?

I must say, that is quite the jumble of words you put together there to justify the Baptist sect. You can't change the facts of Christian history to suit your needs because the historical truth of Christianity just isn't of the Baptist persuasion. Nice try.

No, no one uses Elizabethan English today except Shakespearean actors, & then only at work.

And the NASV, NKJV, etc. are written in the same English style in which we are conversing right now.

And no, Elizabethan English is NOT perfectly understandable any more by the average English user. How many know what the "target" Goliath wore was? How many know "conversation" once also meant "lifestyle"? How many know "let" could also mean "hinder"? How many know what "greaves, emerods, coulters, or besoms" are? Those words were perfectly understandable to the British of 400 years ago, but not today.

"The times, they are a'changin' "

Why use a "Model T" Bible version when modern ones are readily available ?

There you go again. American culture is dumbed down so you call Elizabethan culture Model T. You are going to end up hoisted by your own petard. :Roflmao:Roflmao:Roflmao

Still no authority for apostolic succession.

1. You cannot deny the fact that the Apostles were given the power to bind and loose things here on earth per the Scriptures.

2. You cannot deny the fact that a new church, the Christian Church was formed here on earth to keep that new faith going.

3. You cannot deny the fact that leaders (Bishops) would be needed to lead the faithful into the future.

Orthodoxy teaches that these Bishops "have by divine institution taken the place of the apostles as pastors of the Church, in such wise that whoever listens to them is listening to Christ". (CCC 862)

"He who hears you, hears me" said Jesus, so if not them, then who? The Apostolic mission thus continues and the same apostolic message rolls on into the future until the return of our Lord and Savior.

There are several examples of this authority for the Apostolic Succession laid down by God Incarnate (Jesus Christ) Himself, it is your error filled interpretation of the Scriptures that prevents you from seeing them.

There some other fellahs called the Church of Jesus. By your stone age logic......GOD's name is Jesus......ergo why don't you join their church.

"Supernatural Succession of The Bible Doctrine" This I would love to see.

We know the baptist faith is questionable because the guy who INVENTED claimed it was a LIE. The guy actually baptized himself, why? because there was no passing down of the fake christianity he needed to create himself.

Name ONE living person from the year 1000 to 400 who is a baptist. We want sources better than jack chick.

A whole lot of hooey.. Your own historians admit it!
:

Extensive graduate study and independent investigation of church history has, however, convinced [the author] that the view he once held so dear has not been, and cannot be, verified. On the contrary, surviving primary documents render the successionist view untenable. . . . Although free church groups in ancient and medieval times sometimes promoted doctrines and practices agreeable to modern Baptists, when judged by standards now acknowledged as baptistic, not one of them merits recognition as a Baptist church. Baptists arose in the 17th century in Holland and England. They are Protestants, heirs of the reformers. (Baptist Successionism: A Crucial Question in Baptist History [1994], 1–2)
