I have done this but I am wasting my time as the posters here are largely against writing letters so it's useless.
I'm not sure that is what everyone is saying!

Yes but he has given us teachers to equip the saints. Read your bible.

I didn't see the part that got edited; doesn't matter. You're right, that was what he said. My apologies.
It's not often you would apologize.
A gracious response requires Grace. The gracious response

Well, feel free to at any time post a letter you have written, and I'll be glad to critique. I actually ask people all the time to proof-read certain things I write and it's kind of hard to get anyone to do it. But it is helpful to get others' views, and perhaps have them critique, because they may be able to point out flaws we might not want in a finished product. .

Darrell,
Ever since Evan has come onto BB - he constantly asks for advice - but rarely does he ever takes said advice.
Don't listen Darrell.
That's not what I said! I said they are largely against letter writing. I never said that's what everyone believes!
People here are not largely against letter writing anymore than those who disagreed with you in the past about certain books are against reading books (something that you charged them with at the time). Some disagree with you that we should be writing letters to false churches as this principle is absent in Scripture (it is not evangelism as one cannot witness to an organization). Others seem to insist that the practice is not effective. It all goes back to you being faithful to the call and purpose that God has given you (making sure, of course, it is faithful to His Word) and allowing others to do the same. Too often we look for others to be like us, but in the Body of Christ we all have different functions. The "eye" shouldn't demand the "ear" to see, for example). That's not what I said! Darrell,

What is also true is that Evan is targeted by a certain crowd who seems to take pleasure in yanking his chain, so, it is no wonder that one would not often take advice from people who are usually antagonistic towards him.
Usually what I see with Evan is other members seeking to discourage and provoke him, rather than encouraging him. This has gone on for years, and amazed me because there were Christians here...discouraging street preaching. What is likely is that those who were negative towards him are likely jealous they have not the courage for street evangelism. .
Then let me rephrase - people are not against letter writing - perhaps they don't agree with your letter writing or the content of your letters or maybe they don't agree with what they see as your boasting about your letters (or maybe all three) none of which makes them against the writing of letters!
As I said in a previous post, I would like to hear you talk the Lord Jesus Christ as I honestly believe that even if people still disagreed with you on a lot of things - if you were speaking about Jesus rather then yourself people would a lot warmer towards you. Anyway, that is just my opinion - do with it as you will
