I see, you are using the well-known and effective 'Liar Liar Pants on Fire' argument. Very good BiR. This is a new low for you.

I never wrote the word "liar," and went out of my way to make sure that I didn't. Let's be very careful not to bear false witness.....

Yes she was! No matter how often you repeat this lie, it is still a lie!

Again, can you tell me why come she told Joe Wilson that she worked for the CIA on their first date and why she told Congress that she wasn't officially covered by the statue to protect covert agents?

It was a very open secret, as attested by several people at the time. And again, if you think that an operation was compromised, you should be writing your congressman and encouraging prosecution of Armitage, since he was the blabbermouth.

That's funny: Valerie Plame Wilson just went to Congress and testified that this is not true.

And I really don't care if you think Novak is despicable. Knock yourself out with the name-calling. It's nothing to me.

It's nothing to you that the despicable Mr. Novak took down a CIA front company? Wow: that almost sounds like your patriotism is subordinate to you political affiliation. The CIA are the good guys, and it's "nothing" to you when a company used as a cover was blown on national television? I am absolutely stunned that you are so polarized that it means "nothing" to you. BTW, did you know that Valerie Plame Wilson was working on COUNTERPROLIFERATION?

Well let's see, it being a classified operation, giving examples of successes would be despicable wouldn't it?

Well, when Brewster Jennings was taken down by the despicable Mr. Novak, it was "nothing" to you, so I guess not.......

Nevertheless, after the House Intelligence Committee was briefed on the program in Jan, 2006, Democrat Bud Cramer said, "It's a different program than I was beginning to let myself belive", and other members of the committee said that it covered the Foreign Intelligence Surveillence Act, Justice Department papers outlining legal justifications for the operations, limited details on success stories, and some highly sensitive details. None would provide specifics.

Oh, okay. So the proof is that they say that there is proof.

Not even close? This is nothing but your opinion. Justice Department lawyers disagreed. But thank you for the lesson in ethics.

The FISA courts are there precisely for this purpose, and the warrants may be obtained AFTER the surveillance begins. In other words, they can start the surveillance and then go to the FISA court to get a warrant. This is the law of the land, and yet it was broken.

And let's not forget that the "Justice department lawyers" serve "at the pleasure of the President."

Your comments are becoming very disturbing, NiteShift.

Regards anyway,
BiR

Or.....why won't Armitage will be charged for this?

So you DO listen to him? Notice that this is a question.....

Can you answer my questions for me? I'll try to answer yours:

I'll straight up and tell you that I think your overestimate RL's influence and you sometimes seems paranoid about him.

He's not broadcasted all over the country, this is a very rural area, most talk radio is not available. It's too much trouble to dl him from his site, his show is THREE hours long, too much.

Well, what's the question?

I've probably been to his website four times in the last year, and the last time I heard his radio show in its entirety was when I was driving across NE, IA, and CO six years ago, he was complaining then about the drive-by media.

So, NO, there's the answer unless you meant "ever", then the answer's YES.

Is it really that good?

How do you know she was covert under the statute? Again, Toensing, who may be political, but who knows the statute said she wasn't. The CIA did not take affirmative steps to hide her identity. In fact, I was reading today that Novak found out who she was in Who's Who as the husband of Joe Wilson.

If a person is covert under the statute, the CIA has to take affirmative steps to hide the identity, including telling people. The CIA did not do that, which means the CIA either broke the law and hung people out to dry, the "leakers" knew and did it anyway, or Plame wasn't really covert under the statute.

I am inclined, based on what I know, to think the latter. The WH, as I see it, didn't really need to discredit Wilson's testimony. The Senate Intelligence Committee and the Blair report from England disagreed with Wilson and apparently cites Wilson's report in support of their position, and in contradiction to Wilson's positiion.

Furthermore, as political as these people may be, they are not given to releasing classified information. I am sure that there are people far more damaging to them then Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame. Why aren't we releasing their names?

Lastly, why is Novak despicable for releasing classified information but the NYT is not? That tells me there is a political thing going on here. Quite frankly, I think neither Novak nor the Times should have released classified information. I think people's lives are in danger when that happens. It's not good when the right does it, and it is not good when the left does it.

Okay, thanks for answering my simple question.
One more thing though: how did you know that Rush made that point if you don't listen to him, and don't regularly visit his website?

Pastor Larry has better questions....

This isn't the only message board and it's not too hard to guess what Rush Limbaugh would say in this or any situation. Do you want me to listen to him? If so, why?

Off of another forum, I never double-checked it if that's what you mean. Did he say that?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Lewis "Scooter" Libby, a former senior aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, was found guilty on Tuesday of four of five counts of obstructing justice, lying and perjury during an investigation tied to the Iraq war.
Libby was found innocent of one count of lying to the FBI in the probe surrounding who leaked the identity of a CIA analyst in 2003...........

.......

Nobody has been charged with intentionally identifying Plame, the wife of former ambassador Joseph Wilson.

Clinton was IMPEACHED not for cheating on his wife but for lying about it. Get it?

That's true. You used every word but liar, and only dropped the heaviest of hints.

No, what means nothing to me is your opinion of him.

And you can rest easy concerning my patriotism, hot-shot. I did four years in the Army, and three in Reserve. Maybe I should question yours?

If the truth were known, I wonder how many Presidents would lie and commit themselves to perjury for not admitting an extramarital affair.

You are wrong: I simply made an observation.

No, what means nothing to me is your opinion of him.

Ah yes, when all else fails, there is always contumely.

While you were crafting this response, did it occur to you to actually address the points I made? You didn't make one single mention about FISA.

Interesting that, despite my attempts to remain congenial in my replies to you, you would suggest that maybe you should question my patriotism.

Well, okay, if that is the image you want to convey......

Regards anyway - hope your weekend was as great as mine,

I simply pointed out that many of his talking points show up here on the board, many times verbatim. The most bizarre aspect of that fact is the almost belligerent responses to noting this. The simple fact is that these talking points continually keep showing up, in some cases from the same people who deny listening to him.

And you & Bin laden both wanted Kerry to win. Should I look into that ?

You are in my prayers. This see-saw weather in the Commonwealth is getting very bizarre. Wednesday night I went down to Williamsburg after work to get in a quick ride on the Colonial Parkway (on my roadie) and it was warm enough to wear cycling shorts and a short-sleeved jersey. At about 7.5 miles I could see the rainclouds coming in from the West, and decided to turn back (was trying to get to Yorktown). By the time I got back to my car and packed up my roadie, it started pouring. By the time I got back to downtown Richmond, it was rather chilly. Now I have a head cold. That is why my typing seems so nasally (not sure if that is a real word, but you get the picture).

Lots and lots of brotherly Christian love to you and yours,
BiR
