Yes, the second and third soils of Matthew 13 partially accepted the gospel, soil #2 superficially and when the going got tough, he split. Soil #3, did not toss out worldly treasures and they in turn choked out his devotion and commitment to Christ. Neither were transferred into Christ and indwelt, thus teaching we should go "all in" for Christ.
