What about your responsibility of helping others?

Matthew 25:31-46

Again, when you can answer the verses I posted about being responsible and working and owning a strong WORK ETHIC (https://www.openbible.info/topics/work_ethic), per the Bible, then you have a right to argue! People were not put on this earth to get free things and hand outs! We were meant to work! Your argument is old and tired!

I get it .... CTB and Zaac are AGAINST corporate handouts and federal bail outs, but not against handouts for the perpetual, poor and lazy! Kind of hypocritical isn't it?

If it's my responsibility, whey should the government grab for it?

And what about the responsibility to earn one's own bread?

Or even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread [II Thessalonians 3:10-12].

As I ask before and received no answer. What about those families where they are working, but at such low wager they cannot live with out help.

Well, to quote YOUR president, "things are better now than ever!"
You need to ask him that question, because according to him, people are doing great.

Let me help you read a graph ... in eight years Bush issued about ten million more food stamps. In four yeas your man double, by nearly twenty thousand, more food stamps. And that number has not decreased. What does that say about his ability to generate jobs and better income for Americans? Again ... ! For the community organizer turned president in grief.

They are certainly doing better than under Bush. Remember the great Bush recession? Remember what the unemployment rate was under Bush? Things are much better now than under Bush and the GOP.

Let's look at jobs created:

A minus 462,000 under Bush. A big plus for Obama.

Let's look at the unemployment rate under both presidents:

Same source.

Let's look at corporate profits under each president:

Same source

Obama wins hands-down. And you want more of the same with an even more lunatic-fringe GOP
president?

Good we are helping people, not killing them.

If they're as stupid with money as those guy I worked with long ago-- spending half or more their pay on booze and dope-- what do you mean "what about them?"

And what about those who attend church every Sunday, are good people but are employed but receive such little wages that they could not survive without help? Believe it or not, there are such people.

It might say that the recovery from the Great Recession has been tougher than folks expected. The effect on the economy and the job market have been quite interesting. And if your administration ends with the type of recession that Bush's did, then it's no wonder that the guy who follows you has to do more to help more people.[emoji6]

It's not that complicated.

No, I'm not against handouts for the poor. And won't be apologizing for that stance.[emoji106]

Could not survive without help? Shurrr. I told you about the ones I knew. What do these you talk about do to "survive?" A group from our church that went on a mission to the Dominican Republic said they were carrying bags of rice and one bag leaked a little, and the kids around started following and picking up every grain they could find. When you say "could not survive" in this country, you probably mean McDonald's or their Smart Phones cost them too much.

You sound like one of the Americans who have segregated themselves in economic ghettos and never really see, know or talk to people outside their economic group ... especially people in lower economic groups than their own. This segregation seems to create hard hearts in those folk. Perhaps this is why the idea that if a person is poor it is because they deserve to be poor and do not merit any help. Another hard hearted idea that is all too common in our society.
