I cant think of anything clever. So pretend I said something funny.
The real reason that story is funny is because there's no way a sapper would be in the brig alone. He'd have two or three battle buddies with him.Sapper - I cant stop laughing at what you said-
Think of it - Sapper trying say something funny!!!!!
In fact once, I was in the Army Brig for a while - and lo and behold - Sapper appears.
for some unknown reason they put an Engineer with a Quartermaster!
( I thought that was against our union rules)
Anyways, Sapper wanted to know why someone would call out a number - and everyone would start laughing. I explained we had told those same jokes over and over that we finally just assigned them all numbers. So I told Sapper that he should try. - just yell out any number between 1 and 125. So he yells out "99" - not one person laughed - So he tried again - "26" Nothing - So I said Try number 21 - that is one of the funniest jokes - so he yelled out "21" the other inmates just started booing. Sapper just couldn't understand what happend. I told him - "well, some people can tell jokes and some just cant.
