Welcome to Baptist Board, a friendly forum to discuss the Baptist Faith in a friendly surrounding.
Your voice is missing! You will need to register to get access to all the features that our community has to offer.
We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!
And some pastors need to learn how be considerate and show love rather than tear down and cause division. Some of you people should spend more time in the Word of God and less time on this board! Read Matt. 7:16 (Donna that is in the New Testament, toward the front)
Where do the Scriptures say that long hair is worldly?I wonder why is it so many people on here have a problem with worldly things?
Please notice that the words are “it is a shame unto him” – AND NOT – “it is a sin unto him”. The same word is used in...1Cor 11:
13 Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
15 But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Please notice that there is no moral quality involved in the use of the word in these passages...Ro 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
1. Okay, then cut just have short hair and stop being contentious. If error is to be made, err on the side of Scripture.1) Please notice the clear prohibition against being contentious just a few verses later (1Cor 11:16), and
2) If long hair was a sin, according to nature, how could God have blessed the ministry of John the Baptist, a Nazarite forbidden to cut his hair?
I feel sorry for all the women with cancer who have loss all their hair. they are no longer Godly because of it.The passage teaches that a ladies long hair is a glory and given from God.

LOL I wouldn't hate you for it.Originally posted by 3John2:
I have long hair. Longer than Kenny G's as a matter of fact. I've been a youth minister & it's NEVER been a problem. You don't think the blood of Jesus is sufficient to overcome long curly hair? **Condemned** to hell for having long hair! LOL!! Don't hate me cuz I'm beautiful
Moderator note----**Condemned** sounds like a nicer word to use than the original
