He’s about three times the criminal she ever was and was a disgrace to the uniform and subsequently drummed out. And of course he found new ways to get in trouble afterwards. An odd choice.

Dereliction of duty and grand larceny is serving himself not this country. Blind reverence of the Armed Forces is very tiresome. Nobody has been clamoring for the rerun of this guy. He’s just being used today of all days as a political gotcha card.

The problem may be in trading a notorious terrorist arms dealer for the release of anyone. Just what kind of message does that send?
In 2021, Russia said there were 17 Americans in Russian jails
So, there were many more choices!
But the real question is: why dont we know more about those other Americians?
And what were their crimes? Were they as frivolous as a hash pen?
She was the only choice in that Russia was willing to negotiate her release.
Both should have been left in Russia. We keep the arms dealer. They keep the thug and the criminal ex marine.

Bingo. Not exactly sure why you would consider Griner a “thug” but I suspect I know the reason. She’s the least criminal of the three but she’s black sooooooo.
