Looking at trees

My husband and I always go to the North GA mountains--Dahlonega, Helen, or Ellijay. It's sooo beautiful! Wish I could go to Boston. I've never been. Maybe when we retire....

On whichever route I take from SC to PA in November...don't know what that will be yet. Don't know if it will be too late for foliage....

What part of SC?

If you are in the NW area, or close, Rt 11 would be a good one. Strictly foothills, but a beautiful drive regardless of time of year.

Not going to make good travel time, but hey, what's the hurry when so much beautiful country awaits?

I'd love to get away to the Blue Ridge Parkway, but in case I don't I have a wonderful view out my front window. I live in the countryl

My wife and I will drive up tomorrow to Sonkyo. This is a gorgeous area about an hour away from us on our island of Hokkaido. The leaves should be at their peak beauty, and there are two fabulous waterfalls.

Of course, then, within a month we will have our "first snow," heralded by the little white-winged "snow bugs." Then comes our winter, with the six feet of snow in our yard--but we won't talk about that yet!

We are having a beautiful fall that has turned back into summer, but cooler weather is on the way. Our foliage tour has been around our town. The leaves have been beautiful this year.

Actually, we have a fair amount of trees in my complex, but some people don't consider palm trees to be "real" trees

Interestingly, the So Cal basin was originally a savannah with few trees. There are more trees here due to population than there were before the area was settled some 225 years ago. (120 years ago for my area)

In my yard, across the street in the hills surrounding us. Yes we have some pretty trees. Eastern Redbud (gold leaves), Dogwood (scarlet leaves) Oak (tan leaves) Maple (orange leaves) and we will have at least ten huge garbage bags to show for it.
