Getting my popcorn ready.
Biden is still president. Why don't we WAIT and SEE if they go up 50 to 100% in a couple of years? Are you folks who complained so loudly about higher prices during the Biden presidency going to complain just as loudly about higher prices, maybe going up even more, during the second Trump presidency?
We survived Biden. Surviving President Trump will be a cakewalk.
Silly idealist. So who will tend to the butterfly’s?
I furvently believe that anyone who thinks we get a better world from any political party and there crooked representatives is the worse kinda fool in Gods creation….they are idealists and not in touch with reality.
It depends on the tariffs. All of you protectionist tariff fans are going to miss free trade after President Trump decimates it.
Predictions at this time is foolishness. Too much depends on the reaction of other nations.
That is my point.I suggest all pro-tariff folks - be they Biden or Trump supporters - read about the history of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act in 1930 and the resultant decimation it caused to United States trade, and the worsening of the Great Depression caused by it.
That is my point.
The RTAA tariffs (which were reciprocal) were a reaction to the Smoot-Hawey Tariffs (which were pritectionist tariffs).
People need to go back and read the two acts and what happened.
The issue is too many (mostly Democrats) are pretending (lying) that Trump's tariff plan mirrors the GOP Smoot-Hawley tariffs when instead they are much closer to the DNC RTAA tariffs.
The Smoot-Hawley tariffs are irrelevant. Why? Because Trump specifically suggested reciprocal tariffs. The RTAA is relevant.
What happened? The US met the tariffs that other nations imposed and used them for negotiations.
Sounds good....like a boring echo chamber. ;-)I am an anachronistic old man who is in favor of free markets and free trade; as I am a minarchist whose politics are no longer in touch with those of the United States in the 21st century. Thus, I am shutting down my involvement in the discussion of politics with other people. Going forward, my political discussions will be limited to the trio of me, myself, and I.
Sounds good....like a boring echo chamber. ;-)
