Can Jesus be Lord of your life if He is not Lord of your tongue?

In the case of those on this, or any other social web site or forum, I would assume that this may also apply to what comes forth from your heart/mind/soul and proceeds to come forth from your fingertips (typed words and thoughts)?

I am allowing the Holy Spirit to work freely within me to make the type of changes that reflect God and His love in the tone and approach I use while communicating with others on-line. raying:

I am the Executor of an Estate for a lady who passed away last August. This woman adopted her Care Giver as a daughter as her son and grand kids were simply not interested. Now that she's passed away they are all very interested as there's a good sum of money involved.

Speculation began to grow within the church, of the Care Giver being left "hundreds of thousands of dollars". Well, this isn't true but the old gal did leave some to the Care Giver.

A few of those with the "flapping tongues" even went as far as to call the son in Baltimore firing him up to the point he hired a lawyer. Now why would church members of the Care Giver go to flapping that little organ? These fine people had convinced themselves that in fact the Care Giver had been left "Hundreds of Thousands of Dollars" and jealously set in.

As for the lawyer, there has been no misappropriation of funds, contrary to what he was lead to believe. I can attest to that fact! This lawyer has become so angry with me because I won't roll over for him and I'm not otherwise impressed with his "lawyer-ness" and it's really been quite humorous.

Long story short, the gossipers have yapped so much that permanent damage has been done which I suspect will never be ironed out. Last report, the Pastor told the Care Giver she needed to "rededicate her life" and ask for "forgiveness". ...huh? What did she do?

For sure the tongue is a most vicious "animal" with razor sharp teeth.

Voted No on the poll and my answer is yes on your last question.

Speaking before listening to Him is one of my biggest failings. Did that yesterday, in fact. As soon as the words were out of my mouth, I knew it wasn't the right thing to say. Fortunately and hopefully, the right person heard them and they won't cause any future remorse. That is until I have to make a final accounting.

Another fortunately is there can be a little lag time between fingers flying on a keyboard and hitting the send button. How many of you have hit the back arrow instead of hitting that button? I know, I have more than once. The equivalent of biting my tongue to keep from saying what I shouldn't say.

The sad part of all that is that I though what I didn't say/type. Another flaw that needs to be scraped off this lump of clay that's being reshaped by His hands.

I always go back and check my posts, and find errors all the time.

We should always keep our tongues, but it is easy to forget, especially in a debate forum.

Update:

The lawyer for the heir I spoke of above has now filed a petition alleging that I need to be removed from being the Executor of the Estate as it is "believed" that me and the Care Giver are in a "relationship". Their position is based upon "information and belief" but no supportive evidence has been provided as there isn't any.

So, I asked the Care Giver to approach the (Head, Hen House) to show where their gossip has lead. It's amazing what people will do when money is involved not caring one iota should they destroy the reputation of another. The only affair I've ever been in is with my wife for the past 47 years.

Dimwits!!!

Tongues hinged in the middle and flapping on both ends is a most terrible "disease" to be unleashed on anyone. The end result is always bad.

But even of greater importance perhaps, is the thread is about tongue-wagging, name-calling and more, and at the same time we have one on here talking about others doing it toward "him", while he is doing it back to "them."

Good OP and it needs to be practiced, not justified by our circumstances. Justifying our circumstances to allow for improper behavior really shows that Christ isn't in charge at that moment, but that we are.
