Cheaper than the inflated price? Of course. Are fossil fuel vehicles cheaper due to the high initial price of BEV's? As of right now? Yes! That is not at issue.

Here is a partial listing of BEV's with more than 250 miles EPA combined rating and costing less than $50,000.
Hyundai Kona - $27,685 - 258 mile range
Chevy Bolt - $31,995 - 259 mile range
VW ID4 Pro - $33, 690 - 260 mile range
Tesla Model 3 (SR) $41,190 - 262 mile range
Ford Mustang Mach-E Route 1 RWD - $44,000 - 305 mile range
I think it will be interesting to compare this list to one with the same criteria at the end of 2022.

Based on past innovations, I fully expect electric vehicles to either dominate the future automotive market, or be a very strong niche market; but only if the gov't gets out of the way and lets private innovation reign supreme - which in essence means that the future of the E vehicle is seriously in question!
The potential is there, but only if private creativeness is not stifled by BEAURACRACY.
