That is why I say grow up.

I think you make an attack like that because you have difficulty engaging in an honest, back-and-forth conversation; you think you have all the questions and all the answers figured out and you can’t fathom that anyone can possibly disagree with you unless they are stupid or dumb or naive or maybe even the spawn of Satan.

I understand. Lots of Christians have difficulty dealing honestly with politics. Since they understand there is only one way to an eternity with God - through Christ - then they erroneously decide there must be only one answer to any political issue - and it is theirs.

Then why do you bend over backward to defend them?

I’m not. Just trying to show that Republicans, nor any worldly political party, has all of the answers. I wish all political parties would go into the dustbin of history and that anyone running for public office had to stand on their own two legs as an independent.

Or maybe you have close friends or family who vote dem

Most of the people I know personally and that I have any inkling of how they might vote, are Trump supporters. And no, I don’t discuss politics with them if I can avoid it. Politics have become way too toxic in this country to discuss it with personal friends, real friends, not just online acquaintances.

My 94yr old father votes dem, & when he could still hear, & debate, I gave no quarter.

That’s sad. Christians should not be like worldlings who give no quarter.

What a bunch of drivel, are you honestly defending abortion, & now the elimination of the elderly, how about gay marriage, & putting children into gay homes to be raised up in that way, because gays claim the right to parenthood even though in the Devine nature of creation, that is not possible. It’s not because I have all the answers.......it is because HE has all the answers, not you, not me, & certainly not the progressives who would have Him gone. They are eliminating ‘Under God’ from the pledge at their convention. A little here, a little there, & soon enough they eliminate Him. That’s sad? Figures, in your faulty logic I should let my father go down a path at the end of his life that I don’t believe leads him to the right place. But you find it ‘sad’. OK, go be sad. I will continue to defend the principles that I believe He wants me to defend.

I believe He wants me to defend.

If you are referring to the gospel, then I totally agree. If you are referring to politics, then you conflating the gospel with worldly politics, and I could not disagree more. I hope you are not doing that as then it would be you that is going down a path that doesn’t lead you to the right place.

Whatever. You’ll be reading the gospel out of your hidden stash if you keep playing your word salad games. You cannot separate politics from religion when the politics are coming after your religion, & make no mistake, they are. But, you are elderly too, so like me, you probably won’t have to deal with it in your lifetime. I hope you don’t have grandchildren.

Thank you very much for the link to the speech by Maximo Alvarez! Cuba was rich when Castro grabbed power with guns and now only North Korea is poorer. If you like Cuban dissidents, read Babalublog.com

Thank you!

I could not disagree more. You want to mix the holy with the profane. May it never be!

You are also incorrect about Christianity - it is not really a religion, it is a relationship with Christ Jesus. Religion is about actions and rule keeping. Christianity is about becoming more and more entwined in a relationship with Christ.

Don’t have any children, even. On the surface, that is a sort of a mean, unChristian thing for you to say, hoping that I have no children.

Poor choice of words on my part. I do have grandchildren, & it gives me great pause to think what their future might hold. If it were only me? I am at peace. Now that I’ve provided your entertainment for the day, you have called me unChristian, a heretic, wrong at every turn, Salty will save the day, & you voted it a winner. Whose turn in the barrel will it be tomorrow? You’ve used up CMG & now myself. Next?? Any volunteers to take up the slack in Ken’s day?
