Hello all -

In the Bible reading forum we just came across these verses tonight:
I had never picked up on the fact that Christ had all of these women in his entourage and I commented on it. Our brother rsr askedLuke 8
2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
I checked a few commentaries but they said nothing of the common-ness nor rarity of this type of following. Can any of you shed some light?"Would it have been considered unusual for women to have been accompanying Jesus around the countryside? Any idea of the significance of including this tidbit, other than to provide a bit of authenticity?"
As always, thank you in advance for your thoughts.
