It's been a hard day. Mama passed at 5:00 this morning.

She died sleeping peacefully. I praise God for his mercies. Mama is with Christ and my father who died suddenely three years ago.

I am more exhausted than anyone could know. I thank you for the prayers you gave.

though the time is sad- it is comfort to know that she is with the Lord - and that one day when we see Jesus - you will be reunited!
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; - Titus 2:13

I'm very sorry, Scarlett. My mom passed away almost exactly 20 years before, on the morning of Sept,1,2001 between 5 .m. and 6 a.m. You and your family are in my prayers.

I know your exhaustion. I spent 5 months from Sept 8 to January 15 caring for my mom who suffered from ovarian cancer and dementia. My mom's physical suffering was pain filled and her dementia reduced her to an infant needing constant care.

With covid making nursing facilities an impossibility, my brother and I took turns caring and then were together for the last weeks. The exhaustion was so great, continually keeping vigil.

It is a great comfort when your loved ones are at home with Christ. May God give you peace and rest.

Comfort and peace from our Lord Jesus Christ continue to strengthen you even in grief, for you are blessed in mourning and shall be comforted. Matt 5:4

Scarlett, I just saw this now. I don't know what to say.

When my dad died, I was shocked at the feeling of being orphaned and untethered from something I could not name. It was very confusing. I had not seen him in a very long time and we were the opposite of close, but I still felt lost. It all caught me by surprise. I cannot imagine how you must feel.

Scarlet, I just noticed this particular post of yours a few minutes ago. You have your memories of your mom and the comfort that she is with the Lord and things are infinitely better for her now. I hope you are getting much needed rest for your body and soul. Reflections.
