What irony.

CBS affiliate KOIN 6 in Gresham Oregon is reporting that a man that was practicing “open carry” with a brand new handgun was robbed of it – at gunpoint.

I don't see the word "proudly" in the title of the article, but only in your title.

Why did you place that word there? What point are you trying to make by making the man whose gun was stolen a "proud" man?

This is what happens when people aren't vigilant or aware of their surroundings. As soon as the guy walked up, he should have become hyper-vigilant and been ready. Criminals usually look for easy targets, wonder how clueless this guy was that a criminal would even think to try this.

open carry

That is why, although I support Constitutional carry, I prefer concealed carry. Keeps em guessing. I also support training of the citizenry to understand both the responsibilities of carrying a weapon, and the proper use thereof. Just strapping one on and heading out is a prelude to disaster.

Clueless? Supposedly a CHL requires a degree of training on how to properly use a firearm.
That depends on whether this was a constitutional carry state. Across the state line from me, in NC, open carry does not require training, or at least it did not when I lived there. Concealed carry does. Nor can one make a broad brush argument using the idiocy of one individual. We all had to pass a drivers exam. How's that going?
