Well, everyone, did they get it right? From places I've lived, MD, WV, and NC seem to be spot on, though buckwheat cakes would have been another good choice for WV. I'm not sure about buckeyes for OH, either.

For the most part, it's fairly accurate. I would say that deep fried Walleye would be more of a signature dish for Minnesota than hotdish. (For those of you not familiar with hotdish, it's typically called "casserole" in other parts of the country.)

The creator of the map needs to learn where Nebraska and Kansas are located.

I already ended up on the Hotdish wiki page, it was linked to the Funeral Potatoes which I'd never heard of.

I did order some pastina and had the wife make frog eye salad awhile back. Heard some people talking about it and it sounded good.

New York is much bigger than Buffalo and lower New York has the best pizza, bagels and egg sandwiches in the country, hands down.

Yeah, I would have thought pizza would be a nobrainer for NY.

Those pork roll sandwiches from NJ, though...yum.

And while I can't deny PA the cheesesteak, I've spent more time in Pittsburgh than Philly, so it's a Primanti Bros sandwich for me.

Ky should be fried; fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, fried fish, fried zucchini, fried cabbage, fried corn, etc.. The cast iron skillet reigns. No one fixes hot browns around here; only in a few restaurants is it served. Southern style green beans by far surpasses hot browns and nearly everything else in common domestic cooking.

Wings? Really?

I got more Italian restaurants in a 15 mile radius than you can shake a stick at. If you told Nana you were going to deep fry chicken wings and then cover them with hot sauce she'd smack you in the head, call you STOONAD and tell you the wings are for the chicken stock. We got at least 10 places that make their own sausages: hot, sweet, Sicilian and some guy whose name ends with ~ski who makes a Kielbasa to die for. Macaroni and gravy (pasta and sauce) is for Sunday dinner and either Tuesday or Thursday nights. We had macaroni and gravy on Monday night and the neighbors stood outside the house with torches and pitchforks. Then there's greens, riggies

Don't get me started on the desserts and cookies. Pasticciotto, canolis, cuccidati....

Wings? Really?
