I got the same stuff weeks ago when I questioned the "God given right to rebel" concerning the American Revolution.
I love my country. I believe God has blessed it beyond measure IN SPITE of our rebellion.
Nevertheless, Ken is right. This has been hashed out before. I, for one, do NOT find any Scriptural justification for rebellion, nor for "self-defense", particularly when doing it in the 'Name of God". One side said they were on God's said, and so did the other. Go figure.

The responsibility of protecting your God given rights ultimately rests on your shoulders and mine and that can't be done by ignoring legislation that reduces them or by giving them up for alittle security because the current propaganda compels us to.

I have no problem with protecting your God given rights by speaking out against those that would reduce them by legislation or trick us into giving them up by the use of fear tactics. Speaking of which...what ever happened to all the orange alerts? The election is over now and they served their purpose didn't they?

Romans 13. I think you know where I stand on this issue Ken. I haven't changed my mind about it in the year that I have been here.

Anyway, back to the topic. The Mexican rebels of the Alamo. Can you defend their actions without the use of propaganda? I would like to see you try.

You say they are heros in your book. Okay, tell us why. Please.

The Texans, well Mexicans from Texas, were opposed to Santa Anna because he declared himself dictator and disolved the 1824 Mexican Constitution.

They were fighting to preserve the Mexican government that Santa Ana was against.

Those in the Alamo were arguably fighting for Mexico and against her enemies.

If someone here was elected to office, sacked the Constitution, and declared themselves dictator, I don't know of one person who would say it is unbiblical for us to rise up against them in defense of our Constitution.

That is what the patriots at the Alamo did.

Unfortunately, the PC crowd wants to make a point of saying that a bunch of Americans decided to fight against Mexico in order to make Texas part of the U.S.A. While this is true in part, and only later in the campaign, the start of the revolt took place in states all across Mexico, not just Texas. Unfortunately, the others did not succeed. Texas did because of the proximity to the U.S. and the ability to recruit troops from there.

If all of the revolts to Santa Ana's illegal government had succeeded, Texas would have at least remained a part of Mexico for that time, until the Mexican-American war a decade later.

Had Santa Ana not sacked the Constitution, we might be speaking Spanish today........oh, wait.....
